WILL THIS GET SATNAV WORKING ON A JAP IMPORT?

1. REMOVE JAP DVD DRIVE

2. REPLACE WITH UK DVD UNIT (SAME YEAR)

3. BUY & INSTALL ENGLISH BIRDVIEW SOFTWARE & UK MAP (SAME YEAR)

 

Anyone else tried this or do you think this is worth a try?

 

P.S. Went to my local Nissan dealer in EK and was told they could download software from their central system and load it into the car's computer but it would be £50 to do with no gaurantee of success!

Thought this was very unprofessional, either that or they saw me as a soft spot for their Xmas night bevvie fund, told them I'd rather stick £50 on a horse

Will work but only certain units work. I know xtrail ones work, I believe Navera and Patrol ones have been seen to work. I tried a primera one to no avail so its a bit hit and miss really. Check the guides second as there is a piece about this in there.

When I converted mine you don't need an install disk as it runs straight off the DVD. All you need is a UK drive and map disk and it should work

TV/DVD will not work in the UK. The uk unit is satnav only, no AV stuff at all.

Just a suggestion but you might wanna consider replacing it with one of Nurrish's systems ...

 

Probably work out cheaper and you get more functionality ...
