Focus, 2000'ish, 1.6/1.8 Zetec

Good cars the Focus. My girlfriend has a 1.6. It's not very quick but its decent. If insurance isn't too much of a problem then I'd recommend a 1.8 or a 2.0 one.

 

As I say, nothing wrong with the 1.6, it's just a bit gutless at motorway speeds.

hahaha i had a 1.4 focus as my first car and i thought it was a speedy we number until i got in the zed

I would recommend a 115bhp TDCI focus Zetec, I had 5 foci, 2 115 TDCI's where great, nice sporty suspension, 45mpg and go well, group 5 insurance.

 

The ST170 I had was crap, crashy ride, it bottomed out on roads you could tear down in the TDCI and 25-30mpg. The petrol focus is hard to run if the anual mileage is high.
