buttons on key fob not working

ive just had my battery off for 2 days to charge it and now the buttons on the key fob are not working does anybody know what is wrong with it before i take it to nissan.

Didn't work for me, hence a trip down to Nissan. 30 mins job. as i say it cos me 35 quid.

This happened to my car when I first bought it a few years back.

 

I took it to a Nissan dealer and they set the keys up free of charge.

 

IIRC, there is a combination of ignition twists and button presses which does the job too, but I couldn't get it to work!
