Picking up my used 350z. Need help with check list.

Hi all

 

If all goes well I'm going to pick up my 350z in GM w/ Alezan next week.

 

I'm going to make up a checklist of bits and bobs that I need to re/check or make sure I get before I hand over the cash.

 

Can you think of anything important I've missed?

 

I'll keep updating the list hopfully it'll be useful to others as well.

Get Bankers Draft

HPI Check

Arrange Insurance

Arrange Gap Insurance

 

Exterior:

Condition of bodywork

Panel Gaps

Alloys condition

Stone Chips

Check windows drop and rise correctly when doors opened/closed

 

Interior:

Leather Condition

Head lining

Other dash and trim.

 

Shakedown run:

Recheck milage

 

Keys etc:

2 standard keys

1 service / valet key.

Locking wheel nut

Jack and Crank

Tow eye

 

SatNav:

Remote

Instructions

Disks

 

Tracker:

Documentation

 

Documents:

V5

Service book

Manuals

VIN on car same as V5 same as Service book

Seller's Photo ID matches V5

Tax disk Reg matches Car reg

Get Reciept for Payment.

If I remember. You get two keys and a service Key.

So I have 2 standard keys with buttons on.

 

What does the service key look like? Is it a master (that is required to program more standard keys) or just a valet key that won't start the car?

Yes two with buttons. The third key is the same length but smaller plastic end with no buttons.

I,d check that the windows drop correctly when the doors open, and go up when shut...just a small thing but costly to correct !

Cool will do, but it wouldn't it be a warranty job if it was broke?

Might want to ask the dealership to get a alignment done on the car, for your records incase you have feathering problems.

Car has been taken in by the current owner for service and touch up by Nissan. Should be mint when I get it (eventually ).

the valet key as you call it will start car (think it was mentioned) but I find it always sets the alarm off even if you opened the doors with it!

 

Simply turn the ignition to 1 for it to turn off should you ever use it.
