Naah not really, but I did try it once for a few miles on a quiet motorway. You get lots of wind noise when you do it though. It makes about 1/10 of a mile per gallon difference. It's probably good that England did not get into the footy though - as those flags people whack onto their cars would have sucked up more petrol and made petrol even more expensive.
