Handfast
Hi everyone! New to this forum so this is my first post. I’ve been contemplating for some time now wheter I should upgrade my Radiator or install an aftermarket oilcooler. I have done 2 trackdays so far and it’s fairly easy to reach high oiltemps after a few hotlaps. (Reaching towards 115-120 degress celsius. (I have an aftermarket oiltemp gauge in the door vent) watertemp sits about halfway on the stock gauge but the fans do kick on freqently. I feel the Z could use some improved cooling but I don’t want to get stuff I might not need.. Since watertemp also seems a bit high Im thinking about buying an aftermarket radiator since it will affect both water and oiltemp. Im curious if this will be enough in my case or if I should just buy an oil cooler instead. Maybe both? but like I said I don’t want to buy stuff If it’s not required. Do any of you guys track your Z? Anyone who has perhaps just done one of these mods and can share what temps you reach at the track. cheers! P.S My car: 2005 Nissan 350Z VQ35DE. Mostly stock with mild intake mods and catback exhaust. Running Motul 300v 5w-40 oil.
RyanT
While you’re in there I’d say do both. But, the oil cooler is the more required upgrade in my experience.
