350z convertible/ hood bodywork protector plastic

Hi,

 

Wondered if someone could help.  have an 05 350Z convertible and where the rear of the hood touches the bodywork when the hood is up, there is a plastic film that it sits on for protection i presume.  Mine has algae growing underneath it and looks like it needs replacing.  Does anyone know where I can get this part from?

i would imagine a decent PPF (paint protection film) would serve as a suitable replacement

Hi, thanks for the responses.

 

Don't think its that.  I think its actually supplied as part of the rear hood panel/ cover.  I will try and get a pic posted so you guys can see what im on about.  Thanks

part 1 in the sketch is the protection piece i believe

Hi, that's part 97210N (972A0-CE400) which is listed at around $132.  I presumed it wasn't the correct part due to the hideous price!  I may have to adapt the part if its that price!
