Replacing the cigarette lighter socket in passenger footwell.

Has anyone replaced the cigarette lighter socket with a USB connector?

When you put in a normal USB plug into the socket, it is so large it is at risk of being caught whenever a passenger sits in the car.

Most accessories now use a USB for power so a specific connector would seem much better.

Search for ultra compact car USB plugs. There are plenty that sit flush or almost flush with the socket.

I made use of the blank button for USB power, then when that wasn't enough decided a power inverter was also needed
