Tow hook thread

I'm wanting to make a bracket for my front plate that will screw into the tow hook in the front. Am i right in saying the tow hooks are an m22 for the later models?

 

Also if anyone can point me in the direction of any brackets that do fit the towing eye it would be much appreciated

Yeah BUT the best way is to check, you should have the original tow hook in the boot, so try that on it first

Although I've heard of the ones in the boot not even fitting

 

Ideally measure the hole, but I think the only options are 16 or 22mm, so measure the hook you've got and see if it fits. if it doesn't, then you want the other size.

Just needs a bit of lube and shove it in.

Mines is definitely the bigger size so m22 will be the one haha. Hoping I can find something on eBay because I cba making one myself

When I was looking for one I found that 22mm was a bitch to source and the ones that did exist were silly money.

 

You can get adapter thingies though (can't remember the technical term) that will increase the size of the tow hook to fit the hole.

Not sure if you'd need a towing specific one (to handle the forces), so they may not be up to the job, but something like this?

Would need to be the right grade stainless steel, or something like that,not brass imho.
