I have the dreaded CD skip on my Bose Stereo. I’ve tried lots of local audio specialists but cannot find anyone who can code a second hand unit for me. I can get it repaired but that costs £300, and for that sort of money I can buy a reasonable aftermarket unit.

I’d like a CD player, DAB, Handsfree iphone compatible and something compatible with the steering wheel controls and the existing BOSE amp and speakers. Oh and it needs to look like it belongs in the car.

Having done a brief search these are the 3 options I’m provisionally looking at (obviously I’m aware I will need accessories to go with it):

Questions:

Has anyone used any of these. Fully compatible? Any installed pictures of these units?

Any other recommendations in this price bracket (£300 or under) that might be better suited to the 350?

Is my existing Sat Nav fully independent of the stereo?

I always thought the CD player skip was just due to condensation on the discs.

Whenever it happens to me, I just eject the disc, wipe off the moist film, whack it back in and it plays fine again.

That being said, it's as good an excuse as any to upgrade to a decent headunit.

So I've gone for a kenwood dab unit and I think all the correct wiring.

From searching it looks like I'll lose the voice from the factory sat nav? Is there a work around for this?

Thanks

Thanks to google someone said they managed to wire the audio for their sat nav to a speaker but they didn't say how or which wires? I'm not taking the dash apart until the new stereo arrives but it would be nice to know what I'm doing in advance so that I do it all at once.

Cheers
