BOSE sub size

My Z only came with the front 2 speakers. The rear speaker pods are there but empty and the panel were the sub should be is blank.

If I bought the sub frame, could I, in theory, fit another bass speaker into the frame and fit it into the blank panel? Or is the original place for the sub pretty naff.

 

I was wondering if this was a viable idea and what size diameter bass speaker I'd need.

I have a custom built sub box with a Rockford Fosgate sub fitted in it, that fits the whole aperture behind the original Bose cover. Imported this from the US. Pm if interested.

I don't think the original frame is going to be airtight like a sub should be, so unless you go for a custom sub box, most aftermarket subs won't sound great (unless you find a free-air sub)
