  1. Hey Simon,

Did you use the signal booster? Strange that yours worked (at full volume) and mine didn't.... I'm quite jealous!!!

Also, did you use the RCA's from your new headunit or highlevel output (i.e. did you run the highlevel speaker output into the Bose amp)?

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Matt,

erm, I just plugged it all in and it worked. :p

Seriously, no signal booster used. I used the rear pre-outs from the headunit in conjunction with the ICT loom.

Red/White from the ICT connector to the RCA fronts (Headunit), Yellow/Black on the ICT connector to the Rear/Sub RCA (Headunit).

Made sure I turned off the internal amp in the headunit and told it to use the RCA outputs for rear speakers and not subwoofer.

The headunit is a DPX 503U for reference, so its nothing fancy really.

  2. Out of curiosity (and the fact I'm changing my Bose out in the next few weeks), is there any particular make of head unit that only gives half volume when connected to the Bose amp + speakers? Or is it really down to the individual specs of each particular head unit?

    Dan,

I fitted a Kenwood headunit last week (retaining all Bose speakers and Amp) and it goes loud as hell. ;)

Not exactly conclusive I know but it seems from other peoples experience that a lot of Pioneers have the volume drop issue.

  3. Just to add a bit more confusion :headhurt:

If you are retaining the Bose amp/speakers and want a Kenwood unit with the steering controls kept then make sure you have the right adaptor lead (29-??? series).

I ordered the 29-005 lead to suit a Kenwood unit. Unfortunately the lead is a single point connection and the headunit (dpx-503u) has a 4 pin DIN connection.

Turns out there is more than one Kenwood adaptor. NO retailers or even Incartec mention this on their websites.

You will need a 29-005D apparently.

  4. Both mine have come a little unstuck  i held them in place for a little while aswell. I am not going to risk breaking them in taking them off so they will have to stay as they are.

At least they are not upside down though

Thats exactly what i feared will happen as well

The new ones i've got are almost exactly flat :scare: need to be a bit skillful with the shaping of the packers.

  5. Just dragging this subject up again:

I've fitted the satin 'burger' badges front and rear.

The badges are no way curved enough for the rear hatch/tailgate. There is a definite gap (2-3mm) at the top and bottom. Front is obviously fine.

Is this the same for everyone elses???

Received some of these the other day (these are the ones i originaaly wanted)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260376278009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&viewitem=

and these have the same problem if trying to fit to the rear.

I guess i will try to pack the gap with some shaped adhesive pad. :surrender:

  6. I've had it done as well, almost 2 years now with absolutely no issues at all. Better than 20/20 vision.

    BUT...

As said above, get it done at a reputable company and be prepared to pay as much as you possibly can for every available treatment option applicable to your case.

Seeing those adverts in the paper/on TV for treatment from £395 per eye just makes me cringe.

You get what you pay for an all that.......

  7. I can confirm that the seller is not the quickest at replying to emails but the speed and quality of the product are excellent. After speaking to Big Phil, he informed me that they were of excellent quality so I never waited on a reply to my email (which I still dont have) and ordered them anyway. They arrived next day even thought I ordered them late in the afternoon the day before.

I fitted them today ( you have to bend them to the right shape but so easy to do) and they look excellent. Worth every penny.

OK, thats good to know. B)

(Now if i can just get a response from the guy who i've brought a stubby antenna from about why i've not got it yet i'll be doubley happy) Poxy ebay... :boxing: .

    Cheers,

  8. Thanks M13KYF. I've emailed the seller so just waiting on a reply. I'll let you know how I get on.

I've also e-mailed about these to ask if they are genuine Nissan and have so far got zilch info back.

Guess they're not that interested in selling them then.

  9. Hi everyone, been lurking for a while now but not posting because I wasn't an actual owner.

    Well now i am

Picked up my black 06 GT coupe on Saturday morning and loving it already. (Apart from the incomplete tool kit in the boot but thats easily sorted).

Trying to keep this car standard(ish) but i've a feeling that may prove difficult hanging around on here.

    First newbie question:

Why do the Rays alloys each have a blue paint dot on them? Is it to prove their authentic or something,

    Cheers
