  1. K370Z2 Manual. Dblock Thanks for the suggestion. Have to say that I've never had any problem with Mackies, although it has always just been routine servicing except for the time my fanbelt & auxiliary belt self-destructed. I know a few people who chose go there rather than EH for servicing............not that that says a lot!
  2. Elfman Agreed. Macklins were very good, fair to deal with, and Sam the sales guy is a proper petrolhead and really knows the cars. In Aberdeen, for a long time, Evans Halshaw were the only Nissan dealer. I'll be careful what I say, but let's put it this way - I always took my 350z on a 100 mile round trip to Arbroath (Mackie Motors) for servicing rather than a couple of miles to EH  . EH then stopped selling Nissans but would still service them at what was now really only a Renault dealership. 'Nuff said........ John Clark, the Aberdeen BMW/Audi dealer, then took on the Nissan franchise a few months ago. Haven't been there yet but may give them a go. Any of the other North East Scotland guys on the forum tried Clarks yet? Any thoughts? Johnny A
  3. Maxi Small world indeed; I'm up in Aberdeen and came down to Glesca after seeing the 370z on Autotrader. It was Macklins' demonstrator, only 4 months old, and they gave me a decent trade-in on my 350z. I believe that was sold on to someone in the north of England. I hope you had the false beard and 'tache plus shades on before getting in the "Daisy" Juke!
  4. Thanks. The car has only done 3,500 miles so I'd hope it isn't the pads!
  5. Over the last few weeks my Z's front brakes have started squealing when braking at low speed. If I take the car for a blast and hammer on the anchors a few times it stops for a while but eventually comes back. Real pain in the ar5e in town! The Z is under warranty so I'll take it in and have this looked at, but I just wondered if anyone else had had the same problem.
  6. Chan267 Yes, it was Sam. Really nice, helpful guy, and knows his stuff.
  7. I've got the same problem intermittently. I think it's coming from the driver's seat seatbelt mechanism where it's mounted at the top; at least that's what it sounds like. I'm going to try lubing it with WD40 and we'll see what happens. At the moment, turning the hi-fi way up drowns it out
  8. Re. Bounty's comment on the GT-Rs in the background, the dealer, Macklins in Glasgow (who were very good), are a Nissan High Performance Centre and apparently sell quite a lot of GT-Rs (a number of them to Aberdeen). The day I first went in to see the 370z, they had a stunning brand new black GT-R waiting for collection by a customer and a few others around the forecourt. Tempted, but the 370z will do fine for now! J
  9. Thanks mate; now sorted in original too. Cheers J
  10. Thanks guys. Can't work out why the pics don't show up in my original post. Can anyone explain? J
  11. After 4.5 very happy years with my 350z I've just changed it out for a 370z . The 370 is 4 months old, 3,500 miles, and I'm delighted with it. Felt just right the minute I sat in it. Here's a couple of photos of the two cars together. Cheers Johnny A
  12. Looks like it's been crossed with an Evo VI!
  13. Aye, that tree sap is horrible stuff.......
  14. It's not my Z behind you, but I do walk down Albert Terrace now and again at lunchtime during the week. Don't remember seeing a Z (or two ) parked there before. Will keep an eye out in future!
  15. Should have added that the rattle is only on tickover and stops when the engine is properly warmed up. It also only happens when the outside temperature is well down - i.e. less than -5.
  16. That's what I'm hoping Scott. Just looking for a bit of comfort from some of you guys - rattles make me nervous!
  17. ......and I confirm that the oil pressure is also fine on start up.
  18. Thanks: 1. Oil up to the mark. 2. Serviced in September 2009 (P2). Done under two thousand since. 3. The service sheet code says "SCO266 5/30W". 4. September 2007; 11,750 miles.
  19. -8C today in sunny Aberdeen and have noticed same thing as last time we got down to this temperature, namely that when the Z is starting from cold I'm getting a rattle from the top end of the right hand bank of cylinders (right hand if I'm facing the car). Once the car is fully warmed up the noise goes away. Doesn't happen at all in normal weather. Anything to worry about? I'm assuming it's just cold, thick oil taking time to warm up and circulate round the tall engine, but interested in thoughts (and whether anyone has the same issue with their car). Cheers Johnny A
  20. A couple more pics of the red GT-R:
  21. Cost me £75 plus VAT for two, but the guy did take ages over it
  22. Had my passenger door 'car parked' by some **** recently. Didn't see it until a workmate pointed it out in the car park at work. Just a small dent where the moron must have opened his door, but right on the swage line and it really bugged me once I knew it was there. Had it repaired this week by a paintless dent repair outfit called Dents8. I'd seen one of their company cars in the street, spoke to the guy who was up from their office in Dundee (they apparently do quite bit of work for some of the Aberdeen dealers), and got him to have a look at my car. One of their techs came up a few days later and sorted the Z out while it was parked at work. Great job - dent gone completely - and he took out another smaller ding that I hadn't even noticed while he was at it. Scary to watch (as people have pointed out here previously), but I can't argue with the result.
  23. Here's a photo - sorry for crap quality; taken with mobile:
