  2. I love growing my own stuff in the garden, no better feeling than coming home from work and have a scout round getting a load of stuff and cooking up something with it, I guess I'm a real foodie at heart and love the old River Cottage thing, we've got loads of veg growing in our garden, chickens and a hot tub!! Also make my own Sausages, Hams, Bacon, Gammon, Chorizo and Salarmi's. Started shooting now but only at clays while I get my aim!!

I think its important to know where your food comes from.

  3. I did an 1100 mile round trip to the ring a few weeks back did 7 laps while i was there, cruised around 95 average, 120 in places, and averaged just under 23.84mpg for the whole trip. well chuffed with that, used 210 liters of fuel all super as well.

  5. Cheers Guys, still trying to find 5 mins to sort the vid out

Did you follow a silver m3 for a spirited drive down the m20 to the tunnel on the Saturday morning.

Yes as per the other pic thread, were you in a Z? When we got checked in we just drove straight round to the train even though it wasn't our Letter being called, we got on an earlier train than we booked ;)

I did park up on the Saturday next to a blade Z at the ring, plate ended in STE, briefly spoke to the owners misses, well she told me to park next to it!!

    Cheers

  6. Great piccies B)

certainly a different way to paint the rays

Yeah I quite like them in black, I may do my spare set like this for track wheels, they always look clean as you can't see the brake dust all over them!!

Sound advice - it sounds obvious, but if you can remember the bends where you can go flat out and those where you have to be careful (ie. those with plenty of spectators) then you will be sweet! It's better to take the bend over the hill too slowly and then curse cos ya could've gone faster, rather than the other way!!

    :-)

lol I find that even now I think, damn could have gone a bit quicker there, but thats where ring experience comes in....Oo Er!!

  7. So jealous - i'd love to go there.

Did you get additional insurance for tracking it, or did you risk it?

It is a great place, everytime I insure the car for euro travel I ask them about Germany and 'one way unrestricted toll roads' they don;t know what Im on about and say I'm insured on all German roads.

I guess this means I'm not insured but IF I ever needed to use it then I really hope they have recorded that phone call for training purposes!! lol

I guess its about not trying to hard and enjoying it more than worrying about times, I've driven over 40 laps now and am getting use to the track, really there's about 6 bends out the 170+ to worry about and the accidents are normally in the same places, so as long as you know where you need to be extra careful then generally you'll be ok.

    Cheers

  8. HI

As some of you know I went to the ring the other week, thought I'd post up some pics from the weekend.

It was the first time I'd really driven the car hard, but I was being well conservative driving it to be honest, after writing of my m3 on track with no insurance and only having owned the 350Z a week. Didn't have to many moments other than the tires going off after 2 consecutive laps and it got a bit slippy.

It'd be great if we could sort out a 350z trip out there sometime.....

    Some of the journey there.

    DSC04240.jpg

My other Mate Tankslapper, he's only got the use of one arm and is so fast at the Ring, he's been going for well over a decade and has done 1000's of laps, it amazing how he does it, It's bit scary mind at 160mph when he put his knee on the steering wheel to put the SMG back into auto!!

    DSC04234.jpg

We got talking to some guys in there Evo's and Skyines and they were saying how much power they had.

This one had over 600bhp, he broke down, iirc.

    DSC04249.jpg

It was funny cuz 99% of the cars that broke down on track were evo's scoobys and the like!!

Busy Busy trying to get out on track.

  9. I was there last weekend - Ultra Yellow - just like the flags on almost every lap!

I think I saw your car, does the reg end in fss? If so I saw you quite alot but never got a chance to say hi.

You also let me passed on sunday morning on track. ;)

    Cheers

    Mark.

  10. That time is okay really.

I did see a blade/GM zed following a M3 going down to the chunnel on Saturday morning (followed him for 20-30 miles down the m20 and he also pulled into the tunnel but queued up at different booth). Do not think it would be you as sure it had a nismo rear spoiler. Did not get reg as he was travelling well.;)

Could have been me, I was following my mate in his Silver Grey M3 CSL, his plate would be more noticeable than mine UK53 CSL.

We were on the saturday train at 7.20am.

    Cheers

  11. Went to the Nurburgring last weekend, found this pic on a ring photo website.

First time I've driven it round there as I've only owned it a week, thought it handled great. didn't really time my laps but got a 9.40 in on the first time out.

Great weekend, really busy and really hot.

Seen a few other 350's there wondered if any were off here?

    Cheers

  12. Hi

There's a local car and bike meet near me on the 2nd Tues of every month at the Carrington Arms, in Ashby Foleville near Melton Mowbray.

Just wondered if anyone was going, I'll be going and taking the Z after I've given it a clean to get all the flies off the front from the 1200 mile euro hoon.

If anyone going let me know, hope to see you there.

  13. Morning All

Can;t beleive how long the clock on the wall oppersite my desk is taking to get to 1 o'clock. The cars packed and all cleaned and polished ready for the 500 mile drive through France, Belgium and in to the Efiel Mountains to the Green Hell!! Can't wait!!

Got all my camera gear so will have a lap or 2 on video to show you all next week, plus a shed load of pics.

Not that I be trying to break any lap record there, to be honest I had a bit of an off on track in Wales last year, and wrote off my E36 M3 Evo that I'd owned for 2 months, with no track insurance, so I'm a tad bit Paranoid about taking the Z and spanking the hell out of it trying to beat my mates time of 8'48" in his 350Z. But if I can match or be around the 9'07" then I'll be happy with that.

I think it'll be a busy weekend, but one of my mates will be trying for a 7'50" in his CSL, and he one has 1 arm, guys amazing so I'll get that on video.

Heres a couple of pics, Hopefully one day I'll put ome of me up in mine off the floor and on 3 wheels!!
