  1. thanks very much for that dave, touch wood it still hasnt gone off yet, however if it does i will give this a try thanks again Jim
  2. thanks guys, have got it back from nissan who said that their diagnostics has come back with nothing it was parked up all day at the dealers and half of today and didnt go off once I will pop the bonnnt and ensure it shuts ok, the boot does a funny thing where you have to press it twice to unlock sometimes, but i understand this is common on the Z. will see how it goes tonight, its a bit strange to say the least lol
  3. still doing it i have looked through the car and there are no bugs if i lock it with the key it isnt going off, but if i use the key fob it goes off the sensor on the roof inside seems to be quite poorly fitted , do you think this could be anything to do with that ?? Lulu
  4. will have a look inside for an unwanted insects lol any other ideas?? are there any electrical boxed behind the rear bumper which may have been damaged by the little bump??? thanks lulu
  5. Hi guys last night my alarm kept on going off for no reason, it went off 4 times throughout the night, so i had to lock it with the key instead of the key fob, the key fob still works, its just the alarm goes off I did bump the car the same night, i just tapped the rear bumper would this affect anything?
  6. My Dad lives in Dorset and I live near to Weston Super Mud ....... It may be coming to Japfest with me as my dad is away on holiday and if i can get insurance for the day it shall be going up with my local club Tatsu. It was funny at Castle Coombe because my boyfriend went back to get something from the GTR and a Porsche driver pulled up alongside and said nice car. My boyfriend then found it very hard to say it wasn't his lol
  7. I can fully appreciate everyones point of view and it is a shame that some Nissan Dealers haven't risen to the occassion. My dad is aware of the expense of running a car of this performance and only aims to keep the car for about 1 year. It has been his dream to own a car like this and has worked to build his own company from scratch so i think he is happy to throw money at the car and drive around with a big grin on his face when the engine starts to purrrr. He did toy with the idea of a Porsche but felt that he would give Nissan a try having had a great time with the 350Z. He may well turn to the Aston/Porsche in a few years time but wanted a car that was unique and around the dining table when the 'what do you drive' question pops up he just wants to say Nissan and see the reaction when the performance figures start to get batted around lol Thank you for all your comments and I will keep you up dated with the running costs as im sure future buyers will be interested in this. cheers lu
  8. I believe that may have been my ma & pa as they were driving up to Castle Coombe to watch some motorsport. Hope the car was clean and dad was behaving!
  9. yes that was him alright (just checked with him) as for the hidden costs, tbh when ordering any performance car there are going to be high running costs whatever make
  10. Nissan UK were taking official photographs of the launch so when we get them i will update this thread. If you class 2 dogs at the gate as 2 mini yorkshire terriers then our driveway is secure lol We all went out for a drive in the sunshine today, and the GTR just ran rings around both my Z and the Aston, sadly with my lack of driving skills I embaressingly limped behind whilst the Aston gave chase, but the GTR was gone into the distance....the presence the GTR had on the road was awesome and at every junction people were fumbling for their camera phones lol. Posing? us? never! hehe
  11. Yes the drive way is looking slightly packed this morning and our mate in a black 350Z has just turned up so its starting to look like a nissan dealership, once my fiance's R32 GTR comes out of storage the Nissan family will grow! Luckily I get to appreciate the car without the service bills, and dad is preparing himself fort he shock. At last the sun is appearing today, the last fews days have been constantly raining and we have already washed the car 3 times.
  12. My dad picked up his UK Spec Nissan GT-R yesterday, it is the first one from the Westover dealership in Bournemouth We picked the car up at 7.29AM (lap time at the ring) to be greeted with a bottle of champagne and flowers for my mum, sister and myself, he was also given a model of the GT-R and a car cover too! The service he has received from Westover Nissan really has been brilliant, so good infact he wanted me to put this post up on the forum to give them good feeback as a dealer for other potential buyers, the trip to the nurburgring and over to the Geneva car show, plus all the extras he has got with the car has really made buying the car an enjoyable experience. To top of the day the dealership had put £100 behind the bar at my dad's local pub as they knew we were toasting the arrival of the car, very thoughtful. Today dad let me drive her! The pick up is immense, she is currently being run in so can't be taken over 3 and a half thousand revs but jesus you can feel the power is desperate to get out. i used it in auto and manual, first time for me using paddles which was scary but cool. Lots of looks from people, firstly looking at the car then realising a young woman was driving it hehe The car really does look after you whilst cornering hard in the wet. We were worried about the exhaust tone but sitting in traffic you get a lovely purrrr and my dad really wanted an understated noise. When you open her up the car really does roar. We set her up with the full race mode and the gear change is instantaneous, the box works perfectly. Sorry to keep on but im so excited that i got a drive and dad trusted me enough lol on with the pics!!! heres some more pics of her with my Z and the brother in laws Aston
  13. GIXXERUK I decided to go stickerless but brownie points for noticing! Pimm you won't be disappointed by the filter, the sound of the engine is lurverly......
  14. The R32 is my boyfriend's, there is always a little bit of friendly rivalry between us. Unfortunately I would have to spend a small fortune on mine to reach the same horse power he is running (340 BHP) As you can see we are Nissan fans and my dad is getting the R35 GTR in May
  15. well as it started to rain and i was bored I sent the boyfriend outside to fit my number plates (my username might make a little more sense now!) Also I bought her a little present to make her breathe easier apologies about the rover of love and the Antique parked behind my little beauty heres the piccies...
  16. Best bet is to put up a date and location and see what interest there is, maybe best to find a location off the M5 so more people may find it easier to attend....
  17. I will definately be up for a meet as i live in the area, I will keep an eye out on this thread for a new date
  18. Im hoping to get one of these: http://z-store.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=8474&ParentCat=17 and also a small Nismo spoiler but haven't quite selected one yet as im rather fussy Im really chuffed with the rims so am not playing with them and im not touching the suspension as I have to get over 9 speed bumps just to park my car at work!! Shame as I did fancy a carbon front lip but will bring the car too low.
  19. Cheers Bronzee nice to see some girlies on here, makes a change of car forum! I thought I would miss the Vtec of the teg but funnily enough I dont! The Z feels much more solid and comfortable compared to the go kart like feel of the Honda. I would say the teg is slightly better in the handling stakes but it has such a revvy engine I was always pushing the car to stay in vtec and try and squeeze the 200bhp out of her. The Z honestly feels like a different league and is so easy to drive. I will always have a little place in my heart for Honda but Nissan has managed to really impress me and im really chuffed!
  20. Beavis, cheers for the heads up on the meet but unfortunately im down in Dorset for the weekend otherwise that would have been nice and close to me as im a Somerset lass so wales is a hop skip and jump from mine! The meet looks massive im sure that will look very impressive through the welsh countryside cant wait to see the piccies. cheers again Nixy for the welcomeS! Hawkie i have already got the car, sorry my thread is rather massive as its been going since March! Im an old bird at 27 so my insurance is only a tiny bit more than my teg, and that was cheap so for once insurance isn't too bad!!
  21. Well guys and gals enough of me lurking around in the background! Rather than start a new thread I thought it best to tag on the end of my rather old newbie thread! I am now the proud owner of the GM 350Z GT I picked her up from my dad on Sunday evening and this is the first time I have removed myself from the lounge window as I keep staring at her in disbelief that I actually own her at last. Its been a long wait for me but my dad has felt guilty for the long wait for his GT-R and has parted with the Z early so im a chuffed little brat!! Up the M5 this morning on the way to work she drove like a dream, the 3.5L engine really does pull well, though im still getting used to the 6 speed gear box Unfortunately my boyfriend has an R32 Skyline and has his beedy little eyes on the Brembos!! Im absolutely over the moon and can't wait to meet you peeps at shows and meets across the country. Cheers Lucy x
  22. Welcome mate to the nuthouse, I absolutely love this car what is the mod spec? We welcome any car nut people including those who are about to buy a new z or previously owned one so dont be a stranger on here and feel free to ask any questions you have on the Z And there are plenty of women on this site too, including perhaps one of the most clued up people on the 350z Tere, her depth of knowledge on the Z surpasses most of us on here Well Zedrush here is the spec list : CF Bonnet Rota 15" Fites Lowered Jap slash cut custom exhaust Type R grill Yellow rocker cover and induction kit As you can see i didnt really do much to the engine it was more for looks and trying to get that vtec louder. She was one of only 300 left in the country and I had spent alot of money and time doing her up, unfortunately straight after I sold her I found out that the idiot that had bought her had smashed it up, what a waste! I will get some decent pics of the Z to be up this weekend as im hopefully borrowing her again! And Chris I random banter is always a good thing!
  23. Bagsy December, no bikinis for me!!
  24. Phew Im glad there is another female to sort all the testosterone out!
  25. Cheers for the warning Jim, im sure i can sort them out Im hoping that i can persuade dad to part with the Z early! He has promised I can take the GTR out for a spin when it arrives but i might need to learn how to drive properly first lol
