  1. they starting the install next week I believe. If thats the same ex-member we are talking about. might be worth give them a shout :thumbs:

    Why? 99% of the members who sign up here & suddenly decide the wasnt a TT setup NEVER see it through ;) TBHif anyone was really serious about going FI they would already know the options & have an idea of costs & where to get it all done IMO ofcourse :)

    I couldn't agree more... If you're going to spend 15k on a car, 15k on FI and then another 3k+ on the brakes and suspension you have to ask if it is really worth it? Don't get me wrong, I love my 350z and I will keep it for longer than most but really... can you justify spending all that cash on a 3, 4 even 5 year old car? What will it be worth when you come to move on??

    If you really want 400bhp and you're prepared to spend all that money I would rather have something like this;

    Or a Nobel etc etc.

    Just my opinion, I prepare myself for the onslaught :lol:

  2. Major PITA! I too have destroyed my undertray and its now only held in with about 3 bolts. Putting copper slip on them helps but you might then lose them if they work free :thumbdown:

    +1, I used some copper grease on the bolts and they seem to be holding up ok. I also used some wide cable ties (looped through the holes where the clips were damaged) and it clears speed bumps better than ever.

  3. Hi BulletMagnet,

    I'm just yanking your chain so don't take this the wrong way :p

    I was reading the rather amusing thread regarding the window issue and I noticed something odd on your signature;

    Can you confirm what a slut brace is? :lol: It would be nice to see a picture of this modification ;)

  4. Hi Eraserhead,

    Sorry you missed out mate, I can confirm that I've never met Dan before so it’s certainly not a case of ‘friends first’ etc... I posted up as soon as I saw the advert and it must have been a case of good/bad luck for me/you respectively.

    Good luck with the Y-pipe :)

  5. Hi buddy,

    So sorry to hear this... Years back I went through the same process with my 106 GTI. I printed tons of adverts from autotrader and PH (picking the most expensive ones from dealers) and sent them to the adjuster. This was about 6 years ago so I struggle with exact figures but it was around 8500 and I got another 750 pounds from them.

    Pick the adverts from dealers from traders on the basis that buying private is too risky... You have to try your luck, they're essentially doing the same.

    Good luck,

    Matt

  6. I have a scorpion system and I had no issues when it come to fitting... It sounds like there might be some bad batches out there so ask your dealer if they've had any complaints before you buy.

    The scorpion is pretty quiet (similar to stock) at low revs but it opens up nicely as the revs build. It's very quiet on the motorway, there's no chance of it bothering you on a long run.

    These clips never do justice but it gives you an idea.

  7. After speaking to Adam I went for the Hotchkis kit consisting of springs and ARB'S all round.

    Apart from the visual impact I didn't notice much change on the road at first. The car felt a bit stiffer but it’s hard to approach anything like the limit of such a capable car on public roads. On a practical note I've had no issues clearing speed bumps and the car is as comfortable as ever, unless the road surface is particularly poor. My girlfriend said 'she couldn't tell the difference' so maximum points to Hotchkis on the boob test.

    Now for the sexy bit;

    I took the car to my first trackday on the weekend (Bedford) and despite never tracking the car on stock suspension I was amazed at how little roll there was through the corners.

    It felt fantastic committed to fast 3rd and 4th gear corners, you could really feel the G-force through the seat and this was no doubt a result of the excellent body control…. Rather than my driving :drive1

    Everyone I took for a lap (or three) commented on the abundance of grip and body control through the corners, it certainly got the thumbs up on the track. Driving home I flicked the cruise on and the she settled in comfy GT mode as if nothing had happened.

    Obviously some decent coilovers will move the game on but the Hotchkis kit is fantastic value for money and in my limited experience a great kit in its own right. It's certainly not crashy or jarring over our UK 'B roads' which was a slight concern of mine when I first ordered the kit.

    I hope this helps,

    Matt
