  1. Well I finally got the car back and I am over the moon with the work - another post with pics to follow on that ;)

One problem though is the battery. The car wont start at all without being jumped but once its running it keeps running. I drove it back for 4 hours, turned the engine off outside my house, instantly tried to restart it but nothing.

Mine is a JDM with the smaller battery. Do you think I just need a new battery or could it be something else?

If I do change the battery does anyone know the size of one that I can fit in the JDM. Ive read about what lomoto did by taking the battery tray into a store and asking for one in that size but does anyone happen to know what size it is?

    Cheers guys

I had the same problem after my battery died, jump started the car and drove to Halfords and took out the battery and found one of theirs battery was the same size (HB054), below a link, hope this sorts you out

  2. Right - ive since confirmed that it does have a factory fitted immob which is working along side the aftermarket one i had fitted. I took the transponder out of the keyfob and the engine wouldnt turn over.

    Cheers

Further to this on a JDM (2002) - I only have a single key for my car and am paranoid about losing it - I have just been reading a post about getting a blank key cut (ebay key) and reprogramming the key fob etc - does this reprogramming simple do the buttons (ie remote unlock etc) or does it also program the new transponder for the immobiliser?

Interesting, I like yourself have only one key. This may be an alternaltive route for me as I was thinking of getting an after market alarm and immobiliser and this will solve me getting a Jap key imported and programmed for a stonking £498 :scare: which I was quoted for by a dealer. I will then get a key off ebay and just get the key cut and the alarm and immobiliser will work off the aftermarket fob. I agree this will cost me more than £500 but its better than paying a stealer almost £500 for a JDM key.

  3. If you can get a key that is from a Z then they can re-programme it! they will say it might not work but it did with mine!

luckily i had a mate @ nissan & he had a spare z key so i didnt have to run the risk of buying a ebay key & it not being from a z!

Are you saying that you got a UK spec Key to work an imported Jap car ?

  4. I tried to get a spare key for my import as well recently, went to my local Nissan dealership, Ancaster Croydon, was quoted £498 for a spare key :scare:

The key has to be shipped over from Japan as I think the signal for the lock and immobilzer is on a different feqency to the UK spec key.

That still did not justify the price though, as I found out a spare key for a UK car was for around £250 :bangin:

Good luck and let me know if you have any success

I have a 55 reg JDM, just paid my road tax last month for the next 12 months.....pretty sure it was £190 :teeth: , will check tonight after work.

I thought any 350z JDM imported and registered before mid 2006, the road tax for these car are lower so im quite puzzled as to you having to pay £400

  6. YES!! Awesome. I can't play CoD4 anymore. It stresses me out when I get my @ss handed to me by some 10 year old yank! "F*** you, kid!!!!" 'Smash' - Goodbye controller number 7. Then the wife shouts at me.

 it gets worse when there a whole team of them.

MW2 looking good, but I hope the online multi player superseeds the previous MW, that was the crown jewel in the game.

Better start playing MW until MW2 comes out, anyone know the release date for MW2 ?

  7. Elecious, have you brought one of the Peugeot 207 or 307 cargo, how the fitting on the 350z ? The shopping flying around in the boot really beginning to get to me..

  8. Anyone selling these, went to Nissan dealership this morning (Nissan Ancaster, Croydon) got quoted £58 for the cargo net :scare:

Also enquired about getting a spare key for my 05 import as there was only one key which came with the car, UK key £250, JAP key £498 :scare:

  9. You do not lose your NCB, just finish sending a letter for my father who was in the same situation as yourself, Direct Line stated they required in writing that he did not have private car insurance during that period.

  10. Hi All

considering buying this 350z but the only thing is, the tyres on the back look way too small as there is quite a big gap between the tyre and rim. The owner says the back has 18inch alloys with the following tyre size 295/30/18 and has never been lowerd as far as he knows, what are people opinion based on this picture, has it been lowered or is it just that the tyre are too small for the alloys/car ?

sorry if this image doesnt show

  11. Not much diff on the insurance weather its a UK or JAP 350z (elephant quoted me £700 which is by far the cheapest for myself), plus I fancy a change from driving a manual, currently have a RX8 but since driving my friend 350z, Im hooked !

Guess I'll keep on lurking until I purchase a 350z

  12. Hi all

i've been a member for a while and was going to say hi when I purchased my 350z, almost brought one from Bonzaicars/Per4manceimports but have not been impressed with their sales technique.

They had a 350z advertised in autotrader for £12,500 and on their own website for £12,800. Called up quoting the price on autotrader

They say this is was a one off mistake and the price should be the same but they have other cars advertised on autotrader which have difference prices to thier website

I know £300 is not alot but its the principle that as soon as they found out I was eager, they quickly refer to the higher price and not willing to sell at the price advertised on autotrader.

Now looking to import via www.aptusdirect.co.uk anyone used them before ?
