  1. cheers guys, help is appreciated. had a look on i4detailing and noticed they got a blue wax as well- blue velvet, any ideas if this is better than purple haze? how much difference do the different colours add?

Blue velvet is a hard wax whereas the purple haze is a soft wax, so for ease of use the purple haze will be the better option. I use the blue velvet a few times a year but find that while the results are stunning, it takes a lot of effort to use so i use a soft wax to top up on a weekly/fortnightly basis.

  2. Yeah when i changed mine i was able to get it from the top but i think i took a couple of bolts out iirc. Then a few months later my indicator was flashing fast like there was a bulb out but it turned out the passenger side had loosened out of it's holder as i put it back in so when i went to take it out the bulb dropped out and rolled right to the bottom of the headlight  I ended up having to remove the headlight anyway then to shake it out but the headlights are a gift to remove/replace.

  3. Hi guys, i'm just puttin a bit of a feeler out to see if there would be any interest in organising a NI meet or maybe even a joint NI/Eire meet? I'm not sure how many members we have over here so at the min i'm just gauging interest. If we get a bit of interest we could get in touch with the mods and sort out an official event organiser and get a meet sorted out.

  4. I have just booked my helicopter flight with Papillon, flies over Vegas, Hoover Dam and then goes over and in the grand Canyon and lands so we can have lunch and then takes us back :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Did you book online? if you don't mind how much?

Was just thinking of the plane trip rather than the helicopter - get to see hoover dam, vegas and grand canyon, just doesn't stop for lunch at the canyon.

IMO you're better paying the bit extra and doing the helicopter tour, the views etc you get are far superior to the plane. I went on the heli tour the 1st time i was over and loved it esp coming back down the strip at night. This time i'm thinking of hiring one of a mustang/hummer/escalade and doing the self drive tour, simply down to the fact i wanna get out and have a look about at different places but i'll still be doing a helicopter trip up and down the strip at night as i loved it last time so much.

  5. I actually don't notice the mesh too much in that pic but the black will look better. Simple mod that really changes the front and looks stunning

  6. Axle stands will do no problem, there's a wheel refurb place down the road from me and all the cars he does are left on axle stands for a few days and that includes the likes of porsche, ferrari, astons etc

  7. very nicely done. 'Roughly' how much did that all cost?

Is that black or dark grey?

It's black it just looks very different in the photos than it does in real life. The total cost was just over £900 but i've still to get other bits and pieces trimmed in that price. The head cloth and sunvisors is the expensive bit, once you've that done all the other bits aren't too bad.

  8. The centre console (lower bit) is what i want done next as it's the hard scratchy plastic as well. The best way to trim around any joints etc is to take them down a few mm with a dremmel. The more you can do yourself obviously saves you a fortune so even removing the trim yourself and dropping it into a trimmers would save you a good few £s.

  9. I'll try and take some pics tomorrow and put them up. I think for real alacantara it is around 60/70 pound a metre. I also got all the headlining plastics sprayed black and for all that it was £900 but i've still to get the knee pads and backing bits done in that price,oh and i got the wee bit behind the door handles done also.

  10. I've done my a pillars, roof lining, sun visors and centre console but i just got it done by someone so they supplied everything but i'd say if you're confident enough then go ahead and do it yourself. I still want to get some other bits done but what's done already has totally transformed the very cheap looking interior.

  11. Hi guys i'm looking for some help for some problems i've got, i've just fitted a set a decats and i get a noise sorta like a washer vibrating and i've traced it to the cat sensors. The problem seems to be the thread isn't a tight fit into pipes and therefore seems to be causing the noise, i'm just wondering what i could put around the thread to tighten it up, i was thinking maybe some exhaust paste?? The second problem i have is a vibration/rattle sound which seems to be the exhaust vibrating on the underside of the car, i've had a good look but all the clearances seem spot on so was just wondering if anyone else has had this probem and how they managed to fix it?
