  1. Once that information is in the public domain, the next step is insurance companies becoming involved, pre-disposition to diseases, very slippery slope IMO

Well exactly my point its about who controls this info and what they do with it?

Its great having a joined up set up where you have easy access to all data in one place for example - I mean the DVLA licensing online doodar is great - no queueing for 3 days at post offices anymore BUT!!! There are lots of ways and commercially available methods to gain access to info... this worries me - they cant do anything right in this country except breed frikkin Chavs!

  2. I'm with Steve on this one - its a good idea but they will **** it up big stylie -

I worked for the public sector once for 9 months - yikes - makes you scared how slack security and personal data can be - I mean if your running tests on new system builds you make up the data dont you - you dont use a copy of the real data do you!! No brainer!

But if you have nothing to hide then no worries - its more about who controls that data - oh bit of an X files conspiracy job here.......

  3. If I can get a weekend's worth of camping gear in an MR2 mk3 which has about as much storage space as a small bumbag, then I reckon you can easily get everything into a Z. At least, I don't see any issues at all.

Aye Dan I know what you mean I had run 2 MR2 mk3's myself - Living the life of an MR2 owners is quite liberating really its surprising how ingenious you have to be especially when you forget your not in your van when you get a shop at Costco! Fortunately some Japanese engineer decided that the cubbies behind the seats will fit perfectly a half crate of wine!:thumbs:

To be fair I have not really had a chance to see the mini - boot in the Zed softtop - the coupe looks quite cavernous to say the least ! I have to admit to looking at MR2's again as a temp precursor to Zed ownership - sorry guys - could be worse I could be looking at Rex's again ;)

Damn been spoilt in the Ditchfinder on last camping trip so not thought about it in a zed in the same way,

Thanks Martin - yup another tick in the box ? Cant take the portable fridge though !

Oi !! Less of the camp humour Stuey! :p Ragtop people are special we love the smell of that diesel wagon in front or the 1982 Austin Montego belching and coughing up crap! Its part of the fun!

Dan did you also discover that if your caught out in the rain on the motorway in an MR2 as long as you drive above 50ish it does go over the top not in the cab! ;)

Sorry last daft question - spare wheel is under the boot I guess??? full size or space saver?

  4. Ok so bottom line anyone been on holls in a Zed ragtop abroad?

Does it have enough boot space to accomodate say a 2 man tent and the assorted camping gear - cooker, clothes, pots etc?

I'm contemplating a trip to France again this year and if I decide to get an older Zed (much cheaper than an '07) I may just go for it! :teeth:

Sooo other than the problem of catching your bumper on the ferry ramp - any other pitfalls? Has it attracted the wrong kind of attention for example from Le Scroats abroad? Or Mit Policia? Does it sink in the grass on a field campsite?

  5. Got a mate who sells houses too Stan Its still there

If Chorley Nissan sold houses the bricks would be from another builders house the roof from a Caravan, the windows from a ship and the garden like Steptoes back yard - but it would be nicely presented and spotlessly clean!

Whys it not selling Martin? Bet the panels are from a 1979 Blubird cunningly reshaped to fit the zed and resprayed - probably supplied by Chorley Nissan!

  6. im surprised you havnt seen me...............

Well probably the hours I work and they dont let me out during daylight hours?- is yours a black one? ~You must have a cloaking device - trust me I would spot a Zed a mile off I am THAT SAD!

I have seen one this morning and again tonight on the way home M56 - was that you matey? :)

Saw a blue one on M56 again - probably our other North Wales regular?

  7. Caught them at it, nicely done! Little report to NMGB maybe.....??

Yeah would be a nice little number on them but do we honestly think NMGB would give a damn - they would probably rather it was brushed under the proverbial carpet I expect. These bods can wiggle out of stuff cleaner than Gordon Brown and smell roses! ;)

Example - NMGB had released Xtrail in 05 in a groovy pale blue - I bought one (my lovely Rex was traded in - sniff) ok so they only must have made 4 in that colour - I needed a touch up paint can - 3 weeks of various phone calls to dealers and NMGB - but to no avail - they decided to quietly slip the colour out of production and not tell anybody and not make any touch up paint for after sales either - thats not good for a global company is it? General customer service was pants both from NMGB and all the dealers I phoned? Oh well we have all had this sort of experience. I really do think this country excells in this stuff dont you?

My quest will continue there is a Zed with my name on it and I will find one at the right price just need to let the bills settle for a bit and save a few pennies first - thanks again folks great work as always!

  8. Contract is up for renewal soon and looked around for alternatives to my Moto - alwasys had Motos but quality had dipped big stylie so time to let go and enter the brave new world of Samsung G800?

Looks quite slinky and fancy the 5 Megapixel camera - since I never have my proper camera with me when I need it but also it must make telephone calls?

    Battery life????

Any info gratefully received - thanks :D

  9. Ok decided to phone them - and asked the question why an old bumper on the new model?

That reg plate is genuine N55 SSN - its the bosses car apparently and it came with that bumper from the factory (it is the new 07 model)

I mentioned that I was looking at a picture of the same car off their website with the new bumper and ..well silence - 'oh I dont know sir .... would you like to book a test drive?'

I made my excuses and left - thanks forum dude and dudessess! :teeth:

    Information is power!

    Avoid!

  10. did some cursory web insurance quotes ..........

full no claims fully comp etc etc

    Ragtop GT model 07 - 20K miles value say £27K - £1280

Same spec but Coupe £800!!! Wots all that about robbin bar-tenders!

Phoning NFU tomorrow to see what they say - always good for me the past .

Oh plus £400 tax - double Bar tenders oh and tyres every 100 miles ...

Looks likes temp diversion to MR2 roadster again till I get some cash saved and watch the economy for next few months?:unsure:

  11. Also is that the new grey for 07? If so then they must have colour matched any new front bumper surely?

YEs thats the new grey for 07 but and I noticed it at the time when I was there but you can notice it when I looked at the piccy with my mobbie the colour is defo off on shade on the bonnet for example. I dunno maybe there is a glut of old front Zed bumpers swiling around the networks?

Like when Audi dealers stick top end TT alloys on boggo saloons to shift the metal - Nissan erm seem to be going backwards! Oh I might just soddin phone them tomorrow and just ask!

Na I wont Martin wants his commission so I must buy the one up his neck of the woods - at least its the same parts as fitted from the factory?

  12. I'd insist that it has the correct bumper fitted and ask why it has been changed.

I am not bothering - if they want to sell a car like that for £27K and probably not tell anyone then what else have they done?

Its only because I am sad and have access to you guys/gals that I asked the question a common or garden punter probably would'nbt have been bothered?

I will ask them only if I am passing by there again sometime - as we said earlier - its either had a bump and its a temp job or they ordered the wrong part ! I am not touching it!

BUT?? If you could use that to knock a few more grand off and you had it checked out for accident damage etc etc .... :p

They had 2x '06 Coupes there also - obviously Zeds are moving slowly compared to the roaring trade in Navaras they had going! Only dealers I have seen more than 1 Zed at any time?
