Right guys, been round to craigs and came up on the code reader that its a camshaft position sensor malfunction code P0340 Two things Firstly Does anyone know if that code means the right or left hand bank as theres two sensors in the engine and dont really want to have to buy two if theres only a problem with one. Secondary and more importantly would you mostly believe that its just a problem with the sensor or could there be an actual problem within the camshafts and the sensors picking this up! Im going to craig's tonight to read the codes while know more then! Im about 45mins to a hour away from CS plus nissan want 80quid or poss 40 if they do it within hour an hour but they dint seem as if they would do that

iv thought about coming along in mine if craig cant read the code but dont think its doing the car any good really narcotix and that sudden power failure isnt a good thing to have especially if it happened on a corner

No, thats what I ment when we'l see what happens at craig's I.e muddy as he has a reader! Which will hopefully pick it up

After speaking with nissan and my local garage they'v both hinted at a temperature sensor problem as I only get the problems when warm!so we'll see what happens at craig's weds just hope I get it sorted for sat's visit to CS but looking doubtfull

Cheers craig, well what I thought has happened again got in the car this morning and the lights were off apart from the CEL light and started fine! Was driving for about 7mins got the sudden power cut for a split second and the lights have come back on! Just bizarre how it only does it when the cars warm so to me that rules the battery out starter motor etc but we'l have a look craig, cheers

well i got back home started the car no problem and just the CEL light was on so did the ECU reset and went off no problems drove it 15mins turned the car off thought id try it again so went to fire it up and she struggled again and all the lights were back on!!! im guessing in the morning when i get to the car it will start up fine, seems to be that when left to go cold its starts fine but when trying to start after being run it struggles so this doesnt suggest battery to me!!! are you taking yours to nissan narcotix's to have the checks run bud?!

Some already have them dont they chris Well have you checked the coolant buddy after checking mine and topping it up the lights went off and the car fired up ok but that was this morning so ill try it again later if its fine fingers crossed ill just do the ecu reset and see how that goes

yeah going to get it sorted with craig over the next few days just hope its a sensor and nothing to serious but i did catch the underside on the way out so myabe knocked the lamba sensor not sure though

i recently changed my plugs suppose it could be anyone of the sensors to sending the ecu into a 'safe mode' i caught my exhaust on the way out of zedfest so i could have knocked the lamba sensors on the cats just a thought?!
