Spoke to Design911, they're in the process of moving premises, but they say about 6-8 hours to do the job at £75/h.
I'll be doing this myself at some stage, car is still under warranty at the moment, so I can't be bothered
Cool, I'll look forward to seeing the pictures

Looking bloody good Darren.
Wow that guy is one good sprayer, the paintwork looks deep enough to dive into!
Well I like to say it's 95% in the prep but the guy is the God of painters, I've used him for years on all my cars & frequently visit him to view the amazing restorations & repairs he does.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys (apart from Steve, but we will discuss that over a few Stellas in the Lakes ). believe it or not the pictures don't really do it justice. I'm over the moon with how it's come out. A number of people (in the trade) have said I was perhaps going a little far with the prep, but there was good reason & as many of you know, I don't like to 'just' do things.
Had a rest from the 240 this evening & helped Adrian out rebuilding his 370, but will be back to work on the bumpers tomorrow.

Then finished un masking
whilst everything was being painted I got to work on some flat polishing, trying to decide on my desired finish

That thing (nearly said person) ceased to exist in my books. Not sure what you're talking about.
Ahahaha lets stop mucking about & get back on topi

Once this is finished, I'm going to appoint Darren as TORQEN Chief Master Guru Deity High Performance Super Engineer. He knows his.... stuff. Nearly said the S word!
I already am your Chief Master Guru Deity High Performance Super Engineer.
But don't you remember someone recently said I don't know S about S, must be why were both complete failures in life?

As per the title, Thanks for providing me with some nice new rubber for my non-nissan car. Professional, friendly service as always. Will be back just as soon as I get the 240z back together
-
Well after the Germans invaded Sly @ Kaizer Motors for some fresh rubber
I came home to find another zed in the garage
One out & the next one in
Then it was back to work masking up the 240 ready for something Amazing to happen
The paint was mixed & then boom! S##t got real
Then I got distracted
Came back to the booth & the 1st coat was on
After a further 2 coats the shell & doors look like this
Not to much polishing required, over the moon with the result & can't wait to get back there in the morning to get the remaining panels done. All this hard work is starting to pay off

Nice work on the pipe Chris, must say I prefer that part to the prop shaft bracket
-
Well today is the first day the car has rolled on its own wheels in quite some time, about 10ft to start with
Nothing fell off & the brakes worked so it was then another trip onto the trailer & off to the paint shop
I miss it already
So to take my mind off it I started on the bumpers
Hoping to finish work early tomorrow, get some tyres on the Porsche then head up the paint shop to lend a hand & see whats what

Adrian doesn't have a dial gauge so couldn't use the grinder
-
Probably more secure than the paperclip type locks originally on the car
-
Did not even test drive it before paying for it
But I did to make sure I wouldn't be spending to much time under it

Is it done yet?
Err not yet, but this happened tonight
Whole car degreased inside & out, all panels secured, steering wheel fitted, handbrake fitted & rear drums adjusted. Ready for paint

Almost happy with Theres a few bits of dirt/dust that wouldn't rub out, but this will have to wait until later in the year, I want to enjoy the car over the summer & then do any finishing touches over the winter, like the new wiring loom
-
I hate to admit it but I was looking at a lovely white Cayman yesterday!! Bloody Darren, Bloody Adrian
Best you not drive one then Mr G, thats what sold Adrian, he drove mine on Saturday then bought one on Monday
In fact come to think of it he was on the from to a seller before he drove it after being a passenger for just 4-5miles

Amazing work as ever mate.
Looking like you may be on the home straight now.
Just a quick question, how many gallons of paint do you recon you have used so far
Bet I get I shocking answer! Lol
Well with my balls up on the line, learning about all this blocking malarky & the want to have it my way I've done about 15litres of high build primmer most of which has been swept up or clogged my filters nearly 10litres of etch primmer, about 2litres of gloss black, a little bit of silver & about 1.2litres of red/orange so far. Don't ask me how much its all cost as I'm not going to add it up, especially with all the consumables used, Pizza boxes & beer cans everywhere
