A little update on Toyah. She has agreed to do the "Up close and personal" format. So as well as the music there will be a powerpoint presentation during the show with lots of anecdotes. Starting to sort out sound and lighting equipment now. All good fun.

Yes, its getting to be stupid nowadays. I have seen the figures and it just doesnt make sense. I gueass I will just have to do the bar and catering next year. I even tried to buy the pub but the brewery wouldnt sell it.

Just a further reminder for anyone wanting to eat at the pub over the weekend. Its essential that you book a table. They will be starting to serve food earlier this year to allow everyone to get fed in time. They will also be serving breakfast. For anyone wanting this please order and pay the night before.

This is the last year that Ben and Antonia will be looking after us. They are doing well but the brewery have got greedy and hiked the rent to a level they wouldnt be making any money.

There will be food at the hall on the Saturday night. It will either be a BBQ or a buffet. This will be decided next week.

The last weekend in June is a busy one in the NW.

I think you may be free camping on one of the beaches.

 

Can't remember the name of it - but one of the best Motor Museums in that area (I took a ferry across the lake from Windermere to it and then a 15-20 minute walk approx)- has all Bluebird Water speed Records too.

Really worth a visit - if the Mrs does not mind !! It does have masses of it set in the 40's/50's age ish.

It depends what you want really. A campsite with full onsite facilities, bars etc or somewhere quiet to use as a base.

Low Wray is pretty good. Very very good pub not too far away too.

See what happens when you actually drive the car.

Dont forget about the races on Friday and Sunday. Cartmel racecourse is pretty special.
