  1. Haha, they weren't £15 speakers, just adapters for the BOSE speakers that supposedly cost £15 each. It was Greens Car Audio in Blackpool for those who are interested. The reverse cam is a little round CCTV type, I had it fitted into the square plastic bit that pops off to reveal the tow eye. It fits well, thing is, they clearly used a flat head screwdriver to pop it off and took a small chunk out of the bumper with it.
  2. Thanks for those pics, thanks a lot! That's all I needed, to see how easy it is for thieves to rip out my stereo.

  4. Hi, btw, first post and all. Fed up with the BOSE skipping constantly I decided I was going to have my Pioneer Avic-X1 installed. Also got a XDV-P6 Pioneer 6 disc DVD Changer and a cheapy reverse cam for the Avic. Went to local specialist and got quoted £280, asked about the BOSE and whether there would be problems knowing the speakers operated at a different frequency or whatever. "No, no problems at all, we've done quite a few of these" So I took it in at 9am this morning and at 4.30pm phoned them up. "Oh, we've had a few problems with the BOSE speakers as they're... yadda yadda yadda" Saw that one coming. Went to pick it up... "Because of the BOSE we've had to fit addapters on the speakers... at £15 each... that's £390 please" On top of this they: 1) Didn't fit the surround on the second headunit. I know it's a tight fit but it does go on, however they just left it bare with a large gap all the way and looking kind of ugly 2) Reverse cam only works when in reverse gear despite the AVIC manual saying it can be used full time. They've clearly wired it to the reverse light. This is rather annoying when you're going back and forth and the screen is coming on and off, etc. 3) Can only get two radio stations. Two local ones and one of them is a struggle. Radio 1 is hit and miss and there's no chance of any other stations. The AVIC in previous car was fine with radio as was the BOSE system. God only knows how they managed to make it worse. As well as this the car smelled as if they'd been eating their lunch in it and there were greasy palm prints all over the windscreen. I'm fuming. So, some questions. 1) Is there a nicer fascia I can fit around the two single DIN headunits rather than their own two seperate surrounds? 2) Can the volume and seek controls on the wheel be made to work with third party headunits? 3) What's the best course of action for the reverse cam and radio issues? Thanks
