  1. Whats the best price I shold expect to pay for the volk gtf with sum rubber? 19x9.5><19x10 rears?

If you find a good dealer in America-the exchange rate is making this option more viable again I reckon you could get a good deal for £2500 all in (wheels from USA and tires from Camskill)

  2. Very nice wheels, got a set of Volks myself.

Rimwax is good for after cleaning them. For cleaning just use car shampoo and water, at a push even Bilberry Wheel cleaner, but make sure you dillute the Bilberry to a ratio of 1:10

    ....cheers bud

  3. Very nice B)

Make sure you keep them topped up with wheel sealant and clean them regularly.

Thanks:-), I hear that 'Rimwax' is the best for keeping them clean?

  4. very nice wheel, really suits the car. :D

Yeah I had bit of help on that - I saw a set on my350z.com - they were on a gunmetal G35 and it looked Shweet :teeth:

I have just got my new Volk CE28 Special Edition Silver on the Z and it works very well - take a look for yourself: :teeth:post-646-13501186298_thumb.jpg

Thanks to Tom @ TGM Sport for putting the wheels and tires on plus giving car it's P1 9k service

Thanks to http://www.forgedperformance.com for getting my wheels to me - in particular the beautiful Sandy! :teeth: Got them to me from USA in 5 days  The exchange rate is getting better - making these sort of ventures possible :)

  6. Unfortunatly dealers make most of their cash from parts as the margins on new/used cars are so small. Its just the way of the world. Saying that nissan wanted £300 for a couple of bits of interior plastic and they god told to poke it.

...I'm not denying that dealers need to make money elsewhere but there is a fine line between making a profit and taking the p*ss - Honda did not feel it necessary to charge extortionately for a glass mirror!

  7. Ok, to continue upon a current topical theme - why do Nissan insist on charging extortionate prices for spare parts?! I give you two recent examples:

I have enquired about pricing on a front plastic number plate surround for my z and was given a price of £78!

I recently had to replace a drivers side wing mirror (just the mirror) - Nissan price £76! When I was running an FD2 last year I had to replace a mirror on that car and Honda charged me £17 on back-order from Holland.

Thankfully, both times I have been able to source the same parts from members on here at a fraction of the price :) Thanks!

Me thinks Nissan are treating us as cash cows, or at the very least taking the p*ss.

  8. For Jo, she's looking at ditching the Aygo for something more practical and more fun. Now that she's finished her degree, we can afford to be a bit more daft when it comes to cars.

I'd never run a turbo car as a track toy again, I vastly prefer the immediacy of NA. That said, I'm pretty damn sure that Jo will be tracking it and it would be such a shame for me not to show her what it can do...! :D

which one are you secretly hankering after most, the evo or the scooby?

Honestly, I'm not that bothered. The Evo is far better looking on the outside, but the STi looks better on the inside. The Evo alleges itself to be miles quicker than the STi, but looking at the power and relative weights I just can't see it myself. Given that the STi has the larger engine which should reduce the lag I think I'm going to prefer that to drive, and the fact that it makes a much better noise doesn't hurt either :cloud9:

We may even go for a hawkeye STi, best of both worlds really. Just depends on what Jo wants as it'll be her daily driver, and I know she prefers the Evo so far.

If it is an Sti you are looking at go for the Litchfield one - the 2Ltr Boxer engine is far superior to the 2.5 Ltr one. I test drove Litchfield's Type 20 - you would not regret the purchase, however the downside is the cost:-(

  9. starting sizes will be 245/35/19 front, 275/35/19 rear

you'll find people running anywhere up to 275/30/19 front, and 305/30/19 rear

    my own car, 19x9, 19x10, I run 265/30/19 front, 285/30/19 rear

remember, the # on the sidewall really is inconsquential, it's about how much tire hits the ground (ie contact patch). Tires are like shirts - not all 275/30/19, for example, will share the same physical dimensions

    Thanks for that Adam

  10. Wow! I have been asking myself the same question! I have phoned up 3 Nissan Performance centres requesting a trade-in value of my old car against the 370z and at a push I could easily be sold a GTR. Of the three, one centre I have been in twice - TWICE! (Oxford) and not been offered a test drive and have not received call backs. Another in Cambs I have called them more than once over the last couple of months expressing an interest - and this is from a dealer I have bought 2 NEW 350zs over the past couple of years and still no chase up! The third dealer in Watford, who I have never had dealings with before, yet alone visited their dealership, has given me a trade-in value of my current 350z and has left me voicemails - me being in Egypt over the last week has stopped him from getting hold of me - so I know where i'll be buying my next car from:-)

  11. Hi Matey

Im pretty sure my wheels are +22 offset, sorry its been a while since i put them on and i decided on 285/30/19 rear and 265/30/19 front. I have volk sf challenge 9.5 front and 10.5 rear. They are perfect size. No problems with traction control and no need to roll fenders . I use Toyo T1-Rs's

Thats really useful  Planning on Falcons myself - although RE50s are looking attractive - apart from the price!

  12. Hi All,

Im looking to purchase some 19" wheels - sizes are:

    19x10.5 +22 and 19x9.5 +22

I was going to go for 275/35/19 for tyre size but having read my350z faqs (linked from this site  ) they mention anything but 275s! Any views on this - what set-ups are you guys using?

    G.

  13. Think most motor factors just sell glass replacements these days - they either stick on the old shell or are complete with the backing? Have a google search around , failing that a local glazing place will cut some up for you :)

You for real - the glass mirrors have wiring for anti-condensation/de-icing?!

  14. Just the glass?

A member called BLACK-HAWK was selling a brand new complete unit a wee while ago.

R35LEE is also worth contacting as is ZMANALEX however they might only sell complete ones (if they have them.)

    Yep just the glass:-)

  15. MAybe being picky here but Rays are not GT wheels...

They were an option on all zeds until 2006 when they became standard.

So the front one which is 8x18 is what you're on the look out for....

...correct.....you are being picky....when i said (GT Pack) wheels I was hoping to distinguish between the two ya?
