Hmmmmm.......will a set of 19" wheels fit on an S3?!
-
quite a strict requirements i thinks.
I was given a trade in value for the car which included the Volks wheels - the least I can do is replace them with like-for-like OEM Rays as far as wear/tear/tread is concerned otherwise it could cause problems if I swap over tires/wheels worth £2800 for a set of minging Rays that has seen more kerb than tarmac and running barely legal tires donncha fink?
It does not matter now anyhow - I pick up my new car tomorrow - could not wait 'till Thursday which means the z goes with the Volks - shame - someone could have picked up a hell of a bargain but then it is xmas and luxuries like this are not top of most people's xmas list - I knew this was a long-shot right from the beginning and I was not relying on selling them. Thankfully, I bought one of the last Zs in the country and the discount I got reflected that so I have not taken much of a hit overall as far as depreciation and trade-in price is concerned. Im going to miss the Z, I have been lucky (or just plain stupid with my money ) to have owned all 3 variants of the 350z, and I love the car. I have never been tempted with the 370z, although I like the looks, it just did not solve the two main niggles I had with the 350z - road noise and practicality. Although the former can be addressed and the latter Nissan tried to address, im just fed up with having to plan shopping trips - will what I have bought fit in the car - a bit of a pain especially around this time of year?
All the zs have been sound as a pound - never had to go back to the Stealer with warranty issues. Nothing has broken. I love the decisive, solid gear shifting. I love the exhaust note - I wind down my window to listen to that sometimes - but not when it's raining - another niggle I have modified the car mechanically, and it has stood up to what I have thrown in it - Nismo clutches/lightweight flywheels, Nismo exhaust and de-cats - that last car was awesome I have driven it at times like it was made to be driven, and has every reason to hold it's head up high against some of the cars that it has been against that are considered 'better' or 'faster' by some people.
All-in-all - a class act. I dont see the S3 Sortback getting the ame looks by pedestrians as I pass by like I did with the z. But is is a quality piece of automotive engineering - the s-tronic gearbox is awesome and the ride is planted, and I know it will give me the praticality i need plus every now-and-then a thrill driving down some B-road. An end of an era me thinks

They look more like hyper silver to me,mine are formula silver and are much darker.
Good luck with the sale.
Definitely formula silver spokes dude.........just sun glare fooling you

or should I say ended up in the Stealers hands with a damn good car
Hi,
I have a set of Volks Rays CE28N 19X10.5 +22 5-114.3 (9.5 fronts) Formula Silver Limited Edition one piece forged alloy wheels with Falken tires (6mm tread) for sale for £1500. One wheel has kerbing but not too deep and will polish out nicely. The other rear will has 1cm worth of kerbing on it but again not noticeable and will polish out.
Alternatively, I am looking to return car to stock before it is traded in, so will require a set of OEM Rays to replace the Volks, so if someone wants to swap their Rays for these wheels I am willing to do this if:
a) You take my wheels 'sold as seen' i.e. you sort out the polishing of the kerbing on the wheel in question
your wheels are in similiar nick to mine
c) There is 5-6mm of tread left on each boot
d) We exchange Wednesday/Thursday 16th/17th December at latest
e) you pay me £1000 pounds
This is a massive deal - forget about your mum's xmas present - treat yourself - you're worth it (tell yourself)

Those volks actually make a grey zed look tempting........
You should buy mine
....or mine - job done!
-
i love those wheels,
is that £1500 with a swap for the other persons rays, or if it incldes the rays will it be less?
....interesting you should mention that - thanks for opening my eyes to another way of working this as I dont have a set of Rays and I have already had an enquiry on my car but he is not interested in the Volks I would be interested in doing a swap (not a straight swap obviously ) but a deal could be brokered im sure. Anybody out there interested - they are one piece forged alloy rather than 2 piece steel / alloy split rims so as long as you wax them regularly I dont see why you cant use them all year long - I have had them for 4 months in this crap weather and they are still as good as new ?
Car is being traded in next week so looking for a quick turn-around on this gals and guys
-
Ok. Looks like the Volks wheels are a show-stopper for Joe Public in selling the z so looks like I will be downgrading car to factory fitted Rays If I was to get the scuffs polished out - anybody interested - Im thinking in the region of £1500 - remember - 4 months old with 6mm of tread on each boot?
-
GLWTS.I will also throw in a bike rack:-)
This bit totally threw me
...dont need it anymore and I bought it especially for the Z as it allows me to open the boot lid without having to take rack off - simplezz
-
I'd defo buy the same brand again, i have in the past and I'm hoping to do so again in the future. I saw a 370z last week and thought it looked like a fat capri. Too short at the back and a longer bonnet. Not for me. For me, Nissan needed to step the power up a fair bit. A 370z still doesn't have as much BHP as a 7 yr old M3. They should have made it at least 350 bhp to make the jump worthwhile for 350z owners..............
You know what they will do with the 370z Sarnie - the same as they did with the 350z - tweak the car every year or so and add 10-15bhp each time they do it

...Full advert now viewable on Pistonheads with up-to-date photos:-)I have been given a good trade in price but figured I could get more on a private sale.
I would take that sentence out........if I read that I would start any offer really low and try to get the car for as close to the trade in price as possibe....
Cheers Sarnie

The car looks well man. You should shift that for what your asking. Good luck.
Cheers dude - it's going on pistonheads later today for £21449, but if someone offered me 21k on here................

GLWTS mate.
Thanks Digsy

Hi all,
Time to move on (Audi S3 Sportback) :-)
Been offered a reasonable trade-in price but know I can get better selling private.
Im sure you all know the spec of the car so I will run through the basics. The car is a GT spec package with Birdview (OEM) Satnav, OEM Bluetooth telephony, cruise control, up-graded Bose stereo speakers, black leather seats etc etc. The car has done 12100 miles since the registered date of December 2008. Serviced on it's 9000 miles. Additionally, the car has been professionally fitted with ipod connection (charges up ipod at same time depending on what ipod you are using). The car has also been fitted with Volks Rays CE28N 19X10.5 +22 5-114.3 (9.5 fronts) Formula Silver Limited Edition one piece forged alloy wheels with Falken tires as boots back in August 2008 so there is 6mm of tread left on each corner. Needless to say, the wheels cost £££££'s shipped in from America, but the Z looks amazing for them I think you would agree:-). OEM Rays have been sold on as one of them was damaged due to me hitting the kerb hard and denting them - I have just last week had the geometry/camber checked and all is well (carried out by Nissan dealer - paperwork can be provided). The rears have a small amount of kerbing on them but nothing serious and can easily be polished out. There are some minor scuff marks on front spoiler - price lowered to take into account of defects.
I am looking for a quick sale - but quick does not mean chancers putting in chancer offers - end of the day I will be happy with the trade in figure if the car does not sell:-)
Come and have a look at the car (Wokingham - Berkshire) and make me a (reasonable) offer:-). Similiar spec cars (without sat nav) are selling on Nissan site for 23k, I am looking for £19795 (forum member offer):-)
Below are some pics taken late August - I have not had a chance to take more recent ones as the weather has been so crap but I will endeavour to take some more photos over next day for interested parties.
I will also throw in a bike rack:-)

Looks a bit mental, no doubt you have watch the old right foot too!
No
.....think of it as testing under load
Interesting set-up that Caroline's one - takes away the worry of having the rack nicked whilst you are out and about on the bike
But yeah does look not too substaintial either - but who am i to talk with that monsterous contraption sitting on me Z
-
Caroline has a very nifty bike carrier. Saw it at Zedfest. She got it custom made. Worth a pm if considering this as it was very well done.
Did hers sit as high Mike and could she open boot with the rack still on?
-
Hi!
Thanks to 'Givememorepower' I have invested in this rack and a new bike (naturally - any excuse)
Below are some piccies - im sure I can adjust it more as the bike is sitting a bit high as it is but the rack is not bad - ideal for the z The plastic pivot joints are a bit suspect-no matter how much you tighten them IMHO, but as long as you secure tightly with the straps the bike is locked down

.....taking up two spaces I do everything to mitigate damage to my car in car parks, from parking next to new cars and/or parking far side of the car park where there a more empty spaces. If I can do neither of these I wont park there - end of.

Hey Alex - good to hear you came out of this one unscathed - there but for the grace of God go I
370z Nismo OWNED by a Boxter - WTF!
in 370z General
Posted
Now you are having a laugh - behind a z4?! We are talking the nismo 370 here - higher performance on hp and torque (however minimal) compared to standard, Nismo suspension/struts/dampers and Nismo lightweight wheels plus rear aero pack
Read the rest of the comments in the original forum posts and you will see that you have just reinforced their opinion and mine - but for that moment in time, location, opponents (drivers/cars) and weather the 370z was OWNED!
As for the boxter S - awesome with PDK and superior torque.
