  1.

Thats not the worse bit, this car is totally wrapped and was the demo car for the company. Looks pretty decent from the distance I took the picture but if you get close its totally crap around any kind of edge. They haven't tucked it round the gaps so you can see the edges and they are peeling away!!! :scare:

That's what I thought, not a very good PR for a company who's sole business is to wrap cars, but their demo is wrapped shockingly. :scare::scare::scare:

  2. Is anybody up for this?

As I may attend on the Saturday?

I will contact the organisers to get a club stand area.

There are too many speed bumps and uneven entries onto grass for the Zed2010 show so am opting for this one instead.

Let me know if you want to go too.

  3. Looking good buddy B)

Why the metal polish on the wheels though? Surely they are painted not metal?

Just what I was thinking Chris.

Stay away from the metal polish :scare::scare:

Get some Poorboys wheel sealant or Chemical Guys wheel guard. Both excellent wheel sealants.

  4. Thanks for clearing that up everyone. Sometimes I feel a right dope

I'll get on the z-club forum and get the tickets ordered up, Martin or Chris do you know if there is a dead line for these tickets. Might have to wait until Pay day which is next Friday  (Can't believe I'm skint)

And I'll update the list to add my +1

  5. Thanks for the reply Chris.

I think I know where you mean with regards to stand location.

I'm sure there will be a way to get on to the grass

But just to re-ask Where do we purchase the tickets? Is it through 350z-uk, z-club or Japfest themselves and quote "z-club"

Sorry for the million and one questions

  6. Dosnt the Gilmour just fit on the end of a hose? ie Hoselock and it dosnt need a power washer?!?!

I'm pretty sure that's correct, I was going to get one for the garden hose before I got a pressure washer

Yup, just fits to the hose. If you have good water pressure in your area they work fairly well, but nothing like a pressure washer with a proper foam lance. However the Glimour is about 1/4 of the cost!

The Gilmour used to be more expensive than foam lances around the £60 mark compared to a foam lance of £40 (It seems almost everyone is doing a foam lance at the moment hence why they were cheaper)! Gilmours are primarily designed for easier use with a hose and for those that don't have pressure washers.

I used to carry one with me all the time when detailing just in case I couldn't use a pressure washer for some reason or other. Ideally need very good mains water pressure though, but works a treat none the less.

Good luck with the sale Ian  . Just trying to help.

  7. Sorry to be a pain. But haven't really paid attention to this thread.

I'd say I'm 98% certain of coming so what are the correct ticket prices and procedure to purchasing - according to pg 1 it's still to be confirmed.

Ohh and can I have a +1 please, Tanya would kill me if she thought I'd missed her out.

Is this a dedicated Z-club stand and do we know it's location within the show yet?

Will car passes be issued or is it turn up and find the clubs stand?

I've been to Japfest several times before, but can't quite remember if there are speed bumps around the place  could some nice person who has better memory than me let me know? I know some of the areas they tend to stick car clubs is a bit ropey regarding grass verges etc.

Sorry about the hundred and one questions. (Wish I didn't have such a low car  )

  8. I'm no newbie when it comes to car photoshoots.

The photgrapher was very professional, but most are free lance and out sourced anyway.

It's just Fast Car's approach to the article was shoddy and poor at best.

I might as well have just added it to their "readers cars" and would have had similar exposure.

So won't be buying Fast car mag anymore (Not that i did anyway) and will persue other avenues in the future.

You live and learn I guess.

And Shaun, every photshoot I've done I have persisted in getting "some" copies of the originals for my personal collection from either the editor of the mag or the photographer direct. Most mag's just say they can't be used for public distribution.

  9. Thanks for the comments guys.

To be fair I already had a gut feeling it was going to be crap before it came out, so wasn't too disappointed when it was.

I'll contact the photographer and get some original pics, at least that's a bonus from having a mag feature you get cracking pictures (Eventually).

  10. Well after over 6 months waiting they've finally published the feature in the current issue of Fast car.

    It's on pg112 if anyone's interested.

Nice pictures, that's all I can really say about the feature as it's a bit pants! They had no writer attend the shoot and I pretty much wrote the article myself

I may sound a bit petty but after waiting so long and badgering the editors to find out when it will be published the end feature doesn't do the car justice IMHO. Especially against the same ol' same o'l euro golf and polo that's featured in the issue.

That's the first and last time Fastcar get an exclusive on the any other show car I build. Wish I had gone with Maxpower, at least I know they provide writers AND photographers.
