  1. rather than calling me a scammer why not ask me direct - the plate is mine and I am really fcuked off tht some site is offering to sell it when clearly I own it.

And I am a little pi**ed someone is calling me a scammer too - check facts out first, loads of members from the other board actually know me, know I own it and have seen me on teh road with it.

  2. 230 is what I am being quoted, I really hate teh way stealers charge such ridiculous rates for labour and parts - it is a crime and for what, a poxy stamp so when some tyre kicking tee-wat comes to buy your car in the future they can go oooooh (nasal sound) you missed a stamp in your service book.

  3. had the quote back and am happy :)

already decided against disc upgrade and just going for fluid/hoses and due to price am going to fit redstuff front/yellow stuff rears for now

    :D

  4. Hi all

I dare say this has been done and I have searched (honest)...

Does anyone have a comprehensive guide to changing the pads front and rear?

Also as I've seen a few mishaps with the jacking points, what is the recommendation for location of stands?

    Thanks lads

  5. Bob @ RJN motorsports did mine, fluid-disks-pad-brake line

They are really good and you can see some real sorted 350Z.

They were cheaper than getting it done at a dealership.

Ask him if he will do discount for 350z-uk members.....should be okay.

Very close to Williams F1 team at Grove so not too far.

    Steve

thanks :) They are a nice drive down the a4 from here ;)

With regards to the disc's which ones did you go for as I'm about to email them? I'm betting my standard ones are more than adequate (for me) so will prob just go for the pads, fluid and lines instead, if you dont mind me asking what did the cost come to?

  6. cheers

these cost much much much much less than the 10k quoted and are basically just a disc and pad replacement

the issue really is the bloody fluid boiling and I'm no track hero either!

anywhere recommended in the chippenham/bristol/southwest area that does the stainless lines and fluid?

  7. I asked this on another forum but there wasnt much opinion (thats not slagging them off though!)

To make anything quicker you're best making it stop faster too :D

So with this in mind I'd been looking at a metal ceramic kit that fits the Skyline (correct me if I am wrong we have the same brembos and similar discs?)

As they are metal they should resist wearing fast, few friends with porsche have had complaints the breaks didnt fade but they wore stupidly quick

Anyone got any opinions on ceramic (metal mix) discs - of course using the ceramic matched pads?

The other question is really about whether its worth it, the brakes seem brilliant BUT I find I need to do a prime press first then the main press to get the best result (think I may have boiled the fluid on a recent track day instead of coming in I took a few extra laps...) Any recommendations on upgraded fluids and the red stuff pads?

  8. thanks for that, I will look at the HKS system based on your personal recommendations

One thing I have noticed is some get bad reports for the clattery noise they make, I presume with a self contained cooling/lube system this isnt the case on HKS (as you said, just need clarification)

Also I'm happy with stock exhaust, would the system work ok? I'm not wanting to change too much at first so basically stick the HKS on, does it really require an intercooler or as its good at keeping a low temp is the intercooler really not needed?

  9. who is reputable and trusted for an SC install? Are that nissan dealer in mersyside any good?

What SC is recommended for the Z?

I keep seeing comments on how the torque delivier is changed drasitcally with the SC but does it mean its worse low down or is it just flat but much more of it? How does it translate in road driving?
