Back On Topic??
Anyway.......
The badge bit for me is more that any nice, normal person turns into an ar$e the second he gets behind the wheel of one. I have many friends with Beemers and those that have driven other marques instantly notice people don;t let them out etc. and they soon forget to use indicators, lanes and tend to find foglights a better choice than the headlights.
Other than that, I'm sure they do drive well, but I am quite happy driving cars that don't shout out 'I think I've made it so bought an overpriced saloon car'.
I will go and test drive this car on the basis of Dave's reccommendation. However, last time I went to do this, they turned me away as they didn't want to let me book a drive in any of their cars. Badge snobbery from the dealer!!
The same thing happed to me when I went to buy my Zed, I didn't get a drive out until the third dealership!
kicked off royal after, *******. I found anyone younger than myself had a real problem dealing with me.
Anyway H, if you love the way the Zed drives you'll be in for a treat with the M, I think that's what I'm trying to get across, if you enjoy all the little things about the zed, then this will blow you away.

I will for sure give the Z4M coupe a test drive at some point
I'll readily admit I do like it. Its the only car that I've seen that I would possibly swap my zed for. Not sure I can afford it though at the minute so may wait for the used ones to come out in 6 months or so. But by then my zed will also have depreciated so
Same here, I'm not sure I can afford it, Sarnie wait till you drive it mate, fu5kin mental.

And who would want to buy THAT Z with so many NICE colours to choose from
Can some one ban him please.
-
Aside from my slightly jokey comment above, a friend has had a Z3M coupe for some years now. It is fast, fun, mad, different and has a great road presence IMO (all the above apply to the Z too BTW - except mad)
I will for sure give the Z4M coupe a test drive at some point
PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Is there only me sane in this place, most BMWs are dire, not to mention there drivers! the M6 and Z4 M brake the mold IMO.
I think the Z4 M looks OK, but it's not the looks I'm on about its the engine, and the car as a whole!!
I'm right get a grip and book a test drive you nutters:wacko::wacko::wacko:

Your right Mike, it is slightly different, wheels are 19s on that pic, but it's not that far away from what it looks like know.
I actually can't believe I'm sticking up for a BMW, I never thought it would happen!!
Will someone else please test drive one!

Right there Mr Moto, I don't actually like the look of this particular M BMW, I was just pointing out that one was for the ladies while the other is for the men, your quite right it is mingin!
The car I am championing is the Z4 M, which again is not as attractive as our beloved Zed but is most definitely a MANS CAR
-
MANS CAR!
-
Sorry I will answer that just is case you were being serious, it's the fact that most of the Z3's sold stuggled to hit 60 in ten seconds and the Z3 M was just completely mad, looks handling, engine..........

always struck me as a ladies car as everyone I see round my way is driven by one
The Z3 was a ladies car the Z3 M Coupe was a mans car, the Z4 Roadster is arguably a ladies car, the Z4 M coupe is a bearded axe swinger raw meat eating drinks petrol from the pump mans car!
Or a lady who wants to be a mans car!
Could you explain me then:
What makes a Z3 a ladies car and a Z3 M Coupe a mans car?
Are you having a laugh, is he having a laugh!!
Mark, good answer mate!!

42k? Sh1t the bed! Sounds like a decent motor but... 42k? GULP
I know what your saying Steve, it's a lot of lolly but it is that good, when you consider a decent spec new TT is 34 -36k, and the zed, as beatuful as it is, and also the bargain it is! there's just not enough power for me anymore, and without going the EVO route, or second hand 911 or sticking a super charger on.
The only thing I might do is just wait six months and try and grap a used one.

I've had mine speced, at just over 42k which gets me an ipod conector, stereo upgrade and special leather and that's it, you can go on for ever and spend loads more but thats not what the cars about.
ir-fuel: your missing the point mate, if they told me it was pushing 300 it wouldn't matter, I've driven it, and it's a fu5king beast!
-
What bhp is it putting out, Dave?
amazingly only 330!! it feels a lot more!
But it's the whole package the weight distribution, the gear box everything.
-
Sounds like it's impressive Dave. Would have to be immense to get me past that badge though!
What made it that much better than the 3.0 for you though?
Sorry I didn't answer your question!!
THE POWER!!!!!!
-
Having driven all the cars mentioned above the TT is the worse drivers car by a mile, its great if you want gadgets and things that go up and down, if you want a sports car then don't bother, the Z all the way!!
-
Mate, this car is awsome and I'm not sure how yet but I MUST HAVE ONE!!
Remeber the first time you smiled while driving the Zed, well times that by 10, even if you don't plan on getting one just book a test drive, just so you can understand what I'm stayng!
As for the badge issue, it works both ways, you bought the Zed because the car is fantastic not for the fact it was a Nissan.
If you love cars you'll appreciate it for what it is, a fantastic machine!!

Started off last week with a drive out in the Z4 3.0i coupe, after reading an article in EVO staying that the M version wasn't worth an extra 10k.
Anyway nice car and does drive well, fantastic gear box, a lot smaller than the Zed, it's tiny inside and very basic.
A great car but wasn't any better than the Zed if anything the Zed feels quicker, and I think has the edge looks wise. So all in all a great car but definitely no better than the zed, you could argue the BM is better built, you get that
clunk when closing the door etc, but the real thing against for me is the fact that its a BMW.
Told the salesmen that I liked the car but didn't feel I was moving up the ladder just moving to the side, and the BMW thing was putting me off. He asked me to try the M roadster (didn't have a coupe) so booked a drive for Saturday.
Went round on Saturday and took out the M!
**** ME THAT CAR IS AWESOME!!!!!!
It's everything you want the Zed to be, the sound, the power everything and it looks top as well with those power bulges ion the bonnet!
This car is very raw a real real drivers car, I know for a fact that any Zed diver will be BLOWN away with this car, forget the fact that it's BMW and just take it for what it really is, probably one of the best cars you'll ever drive!!!! Its that good!
Is it worth an extra 14k........ you'd expect a little more as standard for the extra cash but that engine is just amazing, and I'd rather drive this than a second hand 911.
BOOK A TEST DRIVE!!!!!!!!!
