  1. Cheers for the replies lads Just to clarify, this noise happens even when engine is off, and only on depression, near the end of the clutch pedal travel. Seems like some of you have the same, and some don't.. mine is a 54 plate GT - Aaron what is yours mate?
  2. realised what it sounds like. a mortar being fired. but quieter. you know, that kind of hollow noise. it has pitch to it, not just grating.
  3. cement mixer noise - its not as severe but yes, that kind of thing, and a feeling of slight abrasion through the biting point (even when in neutral) cool - sounds as if its normal then. thanks
  4. Hiya Got a Z recently , a few weeks ago, and I'm wondering if all your clutches behave as mine: happens in all gears, but best to try in a stationary car in neutral, about 3/4 of the way through the clutch depression I hear a noise, which coincides with the biting point of the clutch. best way I can think to describe the noise is a slowed down, pitched down, quiet dog's yelp. Its not severe, but it is noticable, and you can feel a slight abrasion at the same time. Mines a 54 plate GT pack Gunmetal with RAYS. Its an ex demo model with 8k on the clock, used for test drives and the like, so I'm worried that first time drivers may have baked the clutch. Nothing popped up in the pre sale service though. I've never had a car with a decent engine in it before (most I had was 1.8) so maybe this is normal for a car with a mentalist engine in it? But I wanted to know if you also had this noise/feeling thing. Thanks
  5. blimey! 4500 - is that all!! Got mine on Saturday - GT Gunmetal - very very happy with it! driving back on Sunday, I saw 2 in the space of 5 minutes - one was a Fairlady import with the square number plate and no spoiler, the other a new ish UK model. Saw an 06 the other day as well, at the forecourt where I got mine from - pre release as they're still shifting the "old" new ones first apparently. Rear lights look nice - couldn't tell if it sounded different as I was still in shock at getting mine sorted..
  6. thanks for the replies guys - and I feel nicely welcomed glad you said that about the dealership - I have a contact in a London dealership so that will work nicely. Going for a coupe, hopefully get a GT with Rays. Looking in what car guide the other day - seems to suggest that the GT does 0-60 in a second faster than the normal...which must be bobbins cos I thought the only difference was interior, sound system etc. Anyway - thanks again, I will post pics / frappr myself up when I get it!
  7. sounds good then. this might sound like a stupid question.. given I might be able to get quite a new one, do you reckon I would better off going through a dealership? What are the pros / cons of going private? dunno if you looked round the google vids - there are some cracking mods on there - a supercharged one and also a hilarious one thats had train horns fitted.. anyway - ta
  8. Hiya all Very excited as made a firm decision and made the financial moves to get a 350 in the next couple of weeks. Now boring lots of my mates by making them stare at pictures of 350zs without blinking, watching vids etc. .. and on my searches I found 2 cracking vids on google.video: Apologies if you've already seen them: 350z_vs_newTT 350z_racing_boxster_m3_s2000 Guess who wins in the both.. Anyway - reckon I'm going to have about 22.5k to spend. Any recommendations? What should I be able to get for that?
