    Rear Tyres ?

I've currently got about 3.5mm tread left on my rears (Bridgestones). Probably not wise to try and do 2000 miles through France in September, starting with about 3mm tread - although would possibly be ok. If I get new rears, what do you recommend to go with the Bridgestone RE040 XZ's (non feathering tyres apparently - yet to be seen) that I have on the fronts. I don't really want to get new Fronts as well, as these have only been on the car for about 1500miles, and were free.
  2. My car is going back into Westway this week to have another go at the tracking (after tyre warranty) amongst other things (another clicky shaft etc..). Based on my previous experience, if you apply the right amount of toe-in on the front, the car will naturally centre itself as you you apply the throttle, BUT my Z never feels comfortable (if you know what I mean). If I make a very very small correction to the left, it will pull slightly left and likewsie, if I make a very very small correction to the right, it will pull slightly to the right. basically, I can never let go of the wheel on a flat road and expect it to drive in a straight line! Not that I do this, but you get the idea. Anyone else suffer the same problem and is my diagnosis correct (i.e. not enough toe-in).
  3. I've been offered some nearly new (500miles covered) Dunlop SP9000's for the rear of my Z. As my rears ar a little close to the limit markers and i'm planning a 200miles trip through France in Sep, a) Are they any good Will they marry up with some partially worn Bridgestones on the front (warranty tyres and covered about 1500miles) Cheers Ade
  4. I'm planning my trip to France in the Z in September (St Malo, Bordeaux, Bergerac,, Millau, Montpelleir, Monaco, Monte carlo, Gorges du Verdon, St Tropez, Nice, Cannes, Antibes St.Ettienne, Orleans and back to St.Malo) + any other suggestions peeps have? Any ideas on the cheapest Ferry crossing. I've planned my trip to start and end in St.Malo, so I guess St.Malo, Caen or Le Harve would be good ports, but I can't find a decent price? Anyone got a good website to compare best prices? I also fancied the Chunnel, but it's too far up really. Any advice/help from previous experiences would be appreciated. Cheers Ade
  5. Mr. F, Thanks for prompt delivery. Installed today and up and running in 5mins. Very impressed, as i've never been able to run the car kit since owning the car. Cheers.
  6. I've always used T-Cut. Worked a treat on my last car - used it for 4yrs and still looked like new.
  7. Fair enough - far too simple an idea. I get wrapped up in EMS design on a day to day basis (mainly interfacing to Auto vehicles) - was making it too complicated.
  8. You won't be able to have the "drop down mirror in reverse" feature on maual cars, as we don't have a gear position switch (It'll be inferred from Vehicle speed and engine speed for the EMS). On Autos/Tiptronic the trans ECM will send out the gear position on CAN and therefore the mirrors can use this signal to drop. There is an aftermarket product out there somewhere for this feature. Cheers Ade
  9. Any updates on this install ?? I am very interested
