  1. Well it had to happen at some point. I was coming home in the rain and came off the dual carriage way up onto a roundabout, notorious in the area for being slippy in the rain, not that I knew that at the time. Anyway, was coming round the first corner and the back end just went out a bit so I instinctually turned the wheel to correct it and ended up spinning 180 and travelling back into a kerb.

Didn't do too much damage (was only going about 20 if that), just a bit of a kerbed wheel, bent lower arm and shocker. Only problem is the parts won't get here til 16th april so the car will be off the road till then. Had only been driving it 6 days lol.

Oh well, learning experience I guess going from 75bhp FWD to 275bhp RWD. Was the first time I'd taken it out in the rain too, will make sure to take roundabouts easier in the future!

  2. I'm a complete freak for keeping my cars secure so first thing I wanted to do was see about upgrading the alarm but was just wondering how good the actual standard alarm is. Who's gone for an aftermarket alarm and who's stuck with the standard Nissan one?

I had a word with my mate who's an ICE & Alarm install expert and he says theres a complex electronics system in the 350 which meant I wouldn't be able to have a Clifford installed but could go for something like a Cobra alarm. Saying though though he reckoned that the car would be pretty secure anyway with the stock alarm.

So should I stick with the stock and spend the money upgrading the sound or go for an aftermarket alarm first?

  3. Well I finally picked up the Zed on friday and boy was it worth the wait!! Although by the end of friday I almost physically passed out! I hadn't had much sleep during the weekend (understandably.. it was like a 12 year old waiting for christmas day) but by the end of the day I was that physically and mentally drained I fell asleep on the sofa at 8! Its such as rush though driving that car and didn't let my expectations down in the slightest. After a weekend of driving it though I feel much more at ease with it but just applying that bit more right foot still brings a massive smile to my face :teeth:

Here's the pic of the beast just before I picked it up at the garage:

  4. That does sound like a decent price. I think generally its down to how complex the bodykit is to fit that usually eats up the cash. If its a decent quality kit, it should all go on quite quickly. From what I've heard Veilside kits are very well made so should be a doddle for them :)

  5. Ok probably nobody will know me, probably because I'm the ultimate lurker but I joined the board about 2 years ago when I was going to purchase a Zed and I'm finally picking mine up next friday! lol Think I posted in the newbie room as my first (and only) post.

How come its taken me so long? Well several things. Purchasing my first house delayed the Zed bout a year until everything was sorted with that and then my girlfriend mentioned she was hoping to have my car (C2 ) when I upgraded, although she was half way through having lessons. So not wanting to get rid of the car I waited for her to pass her test, which she did on the 3rd attempt (like me) and the very next day I was out test driving haha.

Anyways, I purchased a gunmetal manual 2003 import Zed and I'm picking the beaut up next friday! And it feels as though I'm 12 again and friday's christmas day. I've been dreaming about a Zed for around 4 years (as sad as that sounds) so I can't wait to be in the driving seat pulling away from the dealership!

I'll definatly be on this site daily now and posting when I can. Seems like you've got a great community here and much friendlier than other car clubs I was member of before :teeth:

  6. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure about the lower right unit, the dealer didn't have much info as they're primarily a subaru dealership. I suppose its only a small thing but just one of only things I knew about imports.

I think its gunmetal grey because it looked a bit dark to be silver. Not sure, quite similar! It looked in good condition for 2003 and only done 27,000 miles (I assume a weekend car), but to be honest I don't know all that much about cars to say much more

  7. After a while of searching I've found a good Zed at a local dealership. Its a jap import but seems to be a good example. Just got a few questions that I was wondering if you guys could help out on.

    1. The speedometer has a black sticker over where the K would be and as I've read on the board here, is quite common. Complete newbie question but does that mean its been converted over the MPH so will accurately show that on the dials?

    2. The dealer says its been through 2 MOTs fine but I can't see any rear fog light. I thought this was a requirement or am I wrong?

Its had two UK owners and a full service history. The car is actually being covered by 1 years warranty which is reassuring but is there anything else I should look out for?

Thanks and look forward to fully joining the club soon! :teeth:
