  1. Bet mines cheaper. How much you selling it for Tim. In anaycase I thought you said you don't have anything to do with Italian bikes.. :surrender:

couldnt resist this one only done 1900 miles it's like brand new, never been messed with.. ;)

not as cheap as yours I'm sure though Kev :)

Good price considering, so you should sell at te price. I'm after much less for mine, whic now has 15k miles.

I've heard though low mileage Ducati's can be risky so thene owner should get a full service, especially cam gaps.

  2. love it, it looks awesome, its weird to think low 4's seems slow, when the sierra cossie came out with a 0-60 of 6.2 it seemed and was claimed to be too fast for the road !! how things change B)

This was due to traction more than anything. Even big power Cossies struggle to get below 5 secs. Mid engine and modern suspension is what makes 4 secs possible. Oh and all the manufacturers nowadays are liars...

  3. I, like many, have been watching the development of this car closely. I was a bit disappointed with the final performance figures. It's not slow but a low 4s 0-60 would have sonded far more impressive!

0-60 times are arbitory when they get this low though, and often a manufacturer exagerates. Maybe they are just being conservative.

  4. It looks dated already

Of course it does it's a retro 70's influenced car....

I get where he's coming from. The Camaro looks like a modern car with some retro styling themes. The Challenger just looks old and out of date.

I like old and out of date, but then again I'm old and out of date.......

At least modern reliability, well US reliability anyway.. ;)

  5. So is that 100 mile range at top speed of 156 or averaging 30?

Smart move bringing Lotus into the project. People would be more inclined to take a look with a name like that involved.

Lotus seem to get involved with so many design concepts/prototypes not to mention problem cars, e.g. DeLorean, Subaru SVX, Isuzu Piazza to name a few.

  6. A knob indeed..

Just shows how easy a car rolls when the wheels dig in. I've seen a few track day rolls at Macleans bend at Donington due to wheels digging into the gravel. An Escort Cossie even managed to forward roll on the same bend.. :scare:

  7. My 06 Z had 275hp at the flywheel, completely standard with 15.000km on the clock, so the numbers sound logical.

@Kev: its not exactly "just" a remap. Its a remap + all the mods he did. We all know just doing mods without remapping the ECU changes 0 on the performance of the car.

One thing I learned is that if you want accurate manufacturer hp ratings, you are better of buying a turbo'd car (they all have correct, or even slightly more hp than on paper), or a Porsche :) Nearly all N/A cars have real hp figures which are lower than in the spec sheet.

I know but most of these so call mods actually loose power, inparticular the exhaust. I still stand by what I said, no way you can get 50 bhp by an ecu re-map and a few bolt ons with an NA car.

  8. Let me try and book it off too, i may be doing my prince2 that week though so need to check, if not, take lots of pics, get lots of video footage and watch out for Jay in his spandex jump suit

I've done Prince2 in a week. It's tough and hard work... :scare:

What type of PM work do you two do?

IT Business Systems Implementation, mainly Oracle ebs

I am doing it that week :( But yay for me.

It does seem like tough work, ive got all the course material already and its mind boggling. :surrender:

Im a Digital Media Project Manager, mainly specialising in operations.

    Cool....

Yes PRINCE2 in a week is tough. Make sure you spend every evening working on the book and you should be OK. We had 2 fails out of 10 people on our course and those 2 didn't put the effort in.

  9. This is one issue that gets my blood boiling. In fact Ill probably need a new keyboard if I type like this for long.

This quote specificaly really gets on my threpenny bits....

Depending on the offence officers can issue a vehicle defect rectification notice, a £30 fixed penalty notice and apply to DVLA to have the number plate withdrawn from use. This could be an expensive penalty for a motorist who has paid a large sum of money for a specific registration plate.

    Now then...

The DVLA auction certain plates - the ones they know will generate a lot of revenue.

CHR1S for example was around £100k I believe.

The DVLA know damned well what that spells, they know damned well that someone is going to pay through the nose for it, and they also know damned well that it wil be spaced exactly as Ive just typed it.

So, when the person does space it in that manner, the police can thn report them to the DVLA to have the mark taken away.

Sounds like a money making racket to me.

If the plates are not to be mis spaced, then why are the DVLA knowingly selling plates for higher prices that form words when spaced incorrectly or altered witht he use of screws etc.

As the licensing body, the DVLA are by their very actions of pricing plates in this manner, encouraging and some may even say "promoting" criminal activity.

If I were in the position where the police ever applied to the DVLA to have my mark withdrawn (unlikely as both mine are now legal), both the DVLA and the police would find themselves on the end of a court case based around the above, as in my book it is clear evidence of entrapment, conspiracy (between the DVLA and the police) to extract monies from the public, and conspiracy to commit crime by the DVLA.

Id probably lose, as there would be no way either the DVLA or police could kiss goodbye to their repsective money earners from these private plate sales, but I would have a damned good go.

I'm with you Chirs, but if the DVLA don't sell them some other toe rag will.
