  1. Well I've kinda gone the other way. I had a GT4 and now have an Exige S. As you say 2 totally different cars so you can't really compare them. My Exige is a little too foucssed to live with as an every day comute unless it's short distance, although a set of normal road tyres would probably fix that.

Personally I couldn't get on with the handling of the Zed, it was too GT and not enough sportscar for me. I sold it after 1 year of ownership and not many miles. As a motorway cruiser Zed's are great though.

So in summary it's horses for courses. One thing I do know is you will miss the VX once it's gone. The Exige is the first car I've owned which I'm not bored with after a year. I've now had it for just over a year and have no desire to sell it.

  2. Shocking. Maybe a disgruntled neighbour?

It could be worse though. He has no panel damage so a full respray will sort it, although an 08 car doesn't really need that. However, this done to an older car would mean a complete new paint job and car looking brand new again. Maybe the local paint shop needs work.

They still want stringing up by the balls IMHO..

  3. THe GT3 driver is a classic Porker driver in my oppinion. He has no idea of the concept smooth is fast. Oh and he's driving an overweight pumped up VW Beetle with the engine in the wrong place......

Not bias at all there Kev :p

These things are down to the drivers. I was doing one of those experience days at Thruxton yesterday and was overtaking people in a 911 Turbo, Exige and single seater Forumlar Renault and I was only in a Cayman. They are all faster cars than the Cayman, but its down to the drivers. In fact the only thing that did overtake me was the intstructor driven Ferrari 355  My instructor didnt beleive me that I didnt have any track experience at all, so I guess I wasnt half bad

The fact on that video is that the porker is all over the place and the Exige looks more composed really just means the Exige driver is better. Which is what you'd expect from typical Exige and Porker drivers, I agree with you there

Me biased....no.... But 911's are old hat. They Cayman's OK as the engine IS in the right place. But when will Porsche get shot of the 50 year old 911.... or shall we just call it the beetle. Answer - when idiots stop buying them I guess...:headhurt: OK, I'm biased, I don't like the 911.

Don't forget tyres. These can make a massive difference on track. The Exige has the benefit of Yoko A048's as standard which are pretty much road legal cut slicks. Not sure what the GT3 uses....something for ride quality no doubt... ;)

Still think it's a funny video....all that porker and a plastic car built in Norfolk beats it....

  4. It's amazing how many of these things people buy... does nobody know where they are going anymore :teeth:

... PS I've got the One but it doesn't do half the things your looking for.

This is for a woman.....

I can get the 520T from Amazon for £160 which seems pretty good.

Very fine line with women, if they can't learn how to use it in 30 secs, they will never use it, if it does more than they want, they will never use it, if it doesn't read their mind and go directly into "take me to the shops and find me a parking space" mode, guess what..... they wont use it

    buy her a map

    runs for cover.................... :plane:

You aren't for one moment suggesting that women can read maps are you....

  5. My Tom Tom is brilliant. Its a 910.It has bluetooth and voice recognition too. Never gone wrong with it. Only trouble I had with it was it wasn't compatable with my mobile and therefore wouldn't download the phone book, but this doesn't stop you using the phone in car, just have to programme numbers in manually. Did a lot of research and asking around before I bought and this was the favorite.

That's what she wants. She'd probably be happy with a bluetooth car kit but fancies sat nav as dear I say it she has problems reading maps, now there's a surprise.....

  6. Hi peeps.

Not posted on here in ages but remember there were plenty of GPS experts. My daughter wants a Tom Tom for her car. My oldest has a Tom Tom XL, but she wants a Bluetooth Car kit facility built in. I think this means I need a Tom Tom GO. I've looked at the 530 and older 520 which is a lot cheaper. Also is it worth the extra for the traffic facility and what is this anyway.

So which to buy and where from?

    Thanks for your help...

    Cheers

    Kevin

  7. Thanks guys. Rear tyre looks ace. No chicken strips now....

I can't get rid of mine. I'd be embarrassed but the bike is in one piece so I'm just happy about that! :teeth:

    Looks awesome Kev.

You been on the track Stew? I hear its a lot easier to do on the track, plus you shouldnt really be aiming to do it on the road ;)

Not really aiming too. Just trying to look a bit less of a gay biker.:lol:

Loving the grey R1 Kev. Looks mean. You got the new one now?

    Yes new 08 R1 See http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight=

I'm keeping the grey one though too nice to sell and great for track days.

PS: Must take a piccie of the rear tyre. Quite proud of if TBH. It was a hot day and I've got sticky Corse 3's so loads of traction...

  8. The biggest adrenaline rush ever. Fastastic day at Mallory Park. Red hot which made it extra tiring. One nasty accident in the advance group...hope the guys OK. From someone who saw happen it it didn't sound good.

  9. Too much attention is paid to Ring times IMHO. Which is the most fun to drive to me is more important. Unfortunately I'd have to say the ZR-1 will be more fun. Loads of V8 power and rear drive. I still wouldn't buy one though. Then again I wouldn't buy a GT-R for that matter.
