  1. Zed is a great car, but the elise is too.

Double check the insurance, I do not think they are that much higher than a Zed, I would expect it to be lower. Certainly less than a mod'd zed.

Just try to get a 24hr test of an elise and see if you can live with the space issues.

  2. Must have been you as on same train, was following you but not closely as did not want to attract attention, was going to come a say hi but you went over the right side in the queue and the left lanes were empty and I do not like Q's, did look around car park but did not see yours but was some other nice kit, they sent the Lambo down the lorry Q as I think it was a bit wide for the normal car carriage.

    That time is okay really.

I did see a blade/GM zed following a M3 going down to the chunnel on Saturday morning (followed him for 20-30 miles down the m20 and he also pulled into the tunnel but queued up at different booth). Do not think it would be you as sure it had a nismo rear spoiler. Did not get reg as he was travelling well.;)

Could have been me, I was following my mate in his Silver Grey M3 CSL, his plate would be more noticeable than mine UK53 CSL.

We were on the saturday train at 7.20am.

    Cheers

  3. I can personally recommend this car, I know the driver, Skeggs as does Louis. I know the chap who helps him tune the engine etc and the car is quick as is the driver. Was second only to Randy at Brands on the A1GP day.

Randy's for 50k is extremely quick, he is now racing a B spec one and still won the race at A1GP.

This one is more in my price range:

  5. If anyone is free on monday and near Kent come over to france for the day (£22 each way), go to Abbeville and I will give a PAX and you will see what a lightweight can do (by the way I am not a quick driver). Also likely to get you out in some fast elise/exige and one chap on the short list will just scare you to an inch of a brown trouser moment in his caterham...

PS anyone going to the A1GP sunday.

  6. Gents

I have driven the 7 to work...twice actually. But it does not have a roof, windscreen or doors and I have to wear a suit each day....so not ideal.

But I disagree about 1 car. I used have the Zed for 3 years and also the 7 for fun. Both great cars. Now a drive a big tug boat of a BMeer but still quick enough, very comfortable and arguably far more practical for a work horse than a zed. I still thing it would not be toooo far behind a Zed on road or track.

If/when I go for a GTR I would still have a proper lightweight for fun. ! know of a caterham currently on sale with a trailer that everyone of you would enjoy as much as the zed and its on sale for £12.5k For a track would be great and if you bin it the max damage would be £12k compare to binning a GTR at £60k

  7. 330d and 335d can be chipped by DMS for £900 and both would leave a Zed from 20mph to anything including 155mph.

Without the chipping you would still be surprised by a 335d. And remember the thing is an auto. 335i would also be interesting. Still believe a 135i would be quicker than a Zed in standard form.

The only reason I went petrol with my 5 was the strange feeling of a turbo oil burner.

They just do not rev the same way and only go up to 5k rpm, if you are used to drive at 6-8k then it just feels wrong. However it did not mean they were slow.

  8. Ring is not really a track as its a public road....albeit a toll one.

And the thing is still heavy....BUT is a great car and I do not thing anyone will disagree with that, I have always said from the start.

Just think what it would be if it lost some of that weight...cannot wait until someone does strip it out.

This is what I call a proper light track car and the GTR is a long way from that time.

  9. Sarnie you know you would just love to have a tank like mine. well maybe in 20 years time. Still think its the best I can find to tow a 7 and take six wheels in the back at the same time.

And okay will not post on here as not to everyones taste.

  10. agreed he does deserve what he got if not more punishment.

I just did not think anyone on here would be that way inclined so I was just saying that we should all think of these things before doing something stupid with speed.

PS did anyone see the 350z getting pulled on Sky TV last night, the cops thought he got upset since he saw in their words a BETTER car (fezza) hence why he sped off. Chap was very lucky, think the reg was GY03 something but not sure exactly what it was.
