Bought a 350z a month ago, turns out I got a bad deal, car is a heavy oil burner, looking for a new engine to slot in. Can hand my old engine in for rebuild available to collect within 100 miles of Leeds

Bump - Same issue here, car smells really rich and oily when I boot it. Otherwise casual driving no smoke or issues, sounds good pulls well but still burns about 1l per 100 miles or so running 10-w40

I'm gonna go give it a dip in a moment, it's been stood since last night (10pm) hopefully there something in there as I put 2 liters in at Chester services and got to Leeds... No blue smoke, very minimal smoke to be honest.. Smells hella bad putting foot down Any common places to check for leaks?

I'm gonna try a thicker oil soon and if that don't work I'll have to find a different way to fix it

I've had this car for 14 days, just spoke to previous owner, he's claiming the car never had an issue like that and he's not willing to cooperate and I'm on verge of crying now

I've been scouting the internet to find an answer and it seem to boil to the same issue, using the wrong oil brand... My 06 DE just had its service, I've been checking the oil level religiously, I've found i use about 1L per 100 miles, I've done about 300 miles and the oil seems mega dark, should I try a different oil or just head out for an engine rebuild? 104k miles on clock using 5w-40
