Yeah I didn't get an exact figure but it sounded around that ball park price. I'll do a bit more research before I commit to it, but it might be worth it for peace of mind!

Hi all, just a quick update if anyone was interested. I dropped it off at Hoodtech today, Charlie there had a quick look before I Ieft and said the bungee straps were definitely an issue and would need replacing. I've left it there for a week so he's also going to check for any other issues. He also suggested some type of upgrade kit which would reduce the chance of the frame cracking in the future (although mine didn't specifically need that yet but it would give peace of mind for the future) I'll be in touch with him again next week so I can keep this thread updated 👍

Hi, we have the KYB OE Equivalent available, they have stock in the USA meaning we can have them here for early next week.
Let me know if you have anymore questions, we can also supply OEM from Japan or USA directly if that's your preference.
Thank you! just sent you a message if you don't mind. Much appreciated

Hi bud there's one on ebay in fact there's a couple item number osf 184834513452
Thank you! I hadn't considered using ebay for a second hand shock absorber tbh, but for the time being its better than waiting 5 weeks!

Hi, my 370z roadster has just failed an MOT due to a leaky shock absorber (front, right) but the garage are struggling to source a part - 5 weeks from Nissan
Does anyone happen to have this part for sale?
Thanks in advance!

I’ve not personally had experience using them but was recommended by someone who had an intermittent wiring issue resolved by them.
@Alfie370Z thank you, I've been in touch with hoodtech and looking to arrange for them to have a look over it for me

@Alfie370Z hi, have you used hoodtech's services previously? I'm starting to have have a couple of issues with the roof on the 370 so looking for recommendations as to where I can go for someone to have a look at it for me, thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your incoming chariot.
I'm an owner of a much older 05 zed so not so knowledgeable on your questions.
I'm sure others will be along with more help.
Welcome to the OC anyway
Loads of good info here.
Sometimes I find it easier to use Google to search info on the OC rather than using the dedicated search function.
Eg type
350z-uk.com gallery gaskets
It'll throw up lots of threads....
Brill thank you
That’s a useful tip thanks, I had searched using the sites search function but that definitely didn’t return as many threads as using google 👍

Hi all,
I’ve paid a deposit on an 11 plate 370z roadster (auto) with 19k miles on the clock. This will be my first Z and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of it.
I’m looking to go and test drive the car on Monday ahead of purchasing it.
With the car at that age and mileage, is the gallery gasket something I should already be considering?
also, any suggestions on what to look out for while test driving?
any advice is hugely appreciated!!

HoodTech were brilliant when I took it there last year - it's ran by a guy called Charlie. The issue that was causing the hood on my car to stick was the bungee straps, which I think someone else mentioned in this thread. He replaced those and that fixed the issue but he also replaced the 5th bow bungee as I decided to try and future proof it a bit. Fingers crossed, it's been great since (although I don't do that many miles in it)
