Hi My Nissan badged gear stick, which I assume is OEM...has a micro-USB socket on the side. Any ideas what it is for...?....

Thought I'd post some pictures of fixing up the scratched arm rest & window switch surround which seems to be a regular issue with the standard rubberised paint that Nissan used which didn't stand up to a bit of wear and tear. Pretty easy to un-clip the panels from each door, using some plastic panel removal tools you can get on Amazon for a few quid. Definitely better to use these than a metal flat head screwdriver. The passenger side you need to remove the grab handle - first by unclipping the silver plastic panel on the handle itself from the top, then a bolt top and bottom to remove the handle itself which which needs a socket spanner. Removing the rubberised paint needed plenty of patience, but a sharp scraper, some tough thumb nails, 1500 and 2000 wet n'dry and white spirit. Took a good couple of hours to get smooth and to satisfy my OCD. Seemed like in some places the rubberised paint stuck a lot better than in other places so was harder to get off. Getting in to the recesses of the switches is tricky....thumbnails and small flat head screwdriver helps. Ready for priming now so will post later.

so...for this washer malarky issue....i get there are 2 reservoirs and one filler cap.... My windscreen wipers and washer fluid are working fine..... My rear wiper arm is fine...but no washer fluid pumped Headlamp washers dead as a dodo Are there two pumps considering that the windscreen washers are fine ?...if so what pump does the headlamps and rear washer...? (I did say on my intro I was a no mechanical wizard...)

Quick update So after a quick squizz with a high powered torch that could light up the moon....I have seen that I do indeed have 2 reservoirs and both are topped up with wash fluid.....when we activate the rear washer the arm will move but no wash fluid is pumped and we could not hear any pump come on....same for headlamp washer....so looks like a failed pump....or fuse perhaps. The headlamp washers completely don't work...they don't pop out and spray the headlights at all.

yep you are right and tried that...with lights on too....

yep......so could be a blockage to the second reservoir......does one reservoir feed the headlamps and rear window and the other reservoir the windscreen ...that would make sense to me as the windscreen gets used loads more..... thansk for you help..
