  1. Many thanks Alex, I got a pair off of a fellow member.
  2. Hi. I’m after a drivers seat to replace mine. I want to remove the metal bar in the right lateral bolster as it causes me considerable discomfort and keep mine original if I come to sell the car. Many thanks, Robin.
  3. Are the seats still available? I’m after a drivers one to remove the lateral bolster metal so I can try and get comfortable. Thanks, Robin.
  4. I have finally got the car back and she`s alive!!! Hopefully all sorted. So the final diagnosis was that where someone had forced the wiring for a new fog lamp (it was a JDM import) through an existing `portal` they had displaced the watertight grommet and water had entered over time direct into the BCM. Seemingly all of the cars problems were down to BCM water damage. So ECU, BCM, key fob replaced and all working. Phew! The total bill including parts has been well over £1000 but at least I now have a running Z and am looking forward to getting to know and enjoy her. As suggested, I did ask the previous owner if he`d like to make a contribution to the final repair bill but I guess you already know his response to this. A disappointing initial experience which I hope to put well behind me. Thank you for all of your support and suggestions to-date. Robin.
  5. Mine has had a nice hole hacked out for the after market fog light, looks ok but not very discrete. I`m wondering if there's a compromise.
  6. I`d like to join you but best wait and see if my Z gets going!
  7. I just love that feeling ............ not! Anyway, new second hand bcm, ecu and key fob have arrived and the difference in circuitry is profound. The old bcm looks positively drowned by comparison. Fingers crossed the auto electrician will sort this next week and maybe, just maybe I`ll be out in the Z this time next week.
  8. I have to say, the previous owner has been really supportive and helpful. I trust that he wasn’t aware of the underlying damage. Ive managed to find an ecu, bcm and key from a 2002 JDM Auto and my fingers are crossed this’ll sort it! The parts so far are under £400, it’s the auto electricians bill that’s worrying me! I’ll let you all know.
  9. Thanks Junkyardbear, the guy I bought from is busy trying to help find a solution.
  10. Hi veeg33, I have and he has a bcm from a 6 speed manual which might work. Speaking to my auto electrician, he`s not phased by the recoding but reckons it really needs to be a bcm from an automatic car. Can`t even be a US car as they`re lhd of course so might differ (plus running lights etc).
  11. Does anyone by chance know someone who repairs bcm`s please? I`ve a 2002 JDM auto and can`t find a suitable replacement anywhere so am looking at all options. Many thanks, Robin.
  12. Hi Zippypooz. Do you think this would fit my 2002 JDM import bottom, assuming I can get it running ever again?
  13. A further update and sadly not the best! Having found and paid for a brand new body control module advertised in Japan which exactly matches my car, a week on and they`ve just emailed to say it`s no longer available and effectively `there are no more`, Nissan stopped production. So my question is, before I buy a similar bcm and hope it might work with recoding from Nissan, can these things be repaired? I have seen an old post on the forum from July 2011 which says `Husky` repairs bcm`s. The auto electrician I`m using reckons the water damage is too great to repair, but I`d like another opinion if anyone can suggest someone or knows of Husky? Alternatively a replacement ecu, bcm and key all paired for a 2002 JDM automatic, ........... hens teeth?
  14. Understood and appreciated. The car was advertised as perfect and I’m a trusting soul. More disappointed and frustrated than angry.
  15. Thanks for the welcome. I absolutely will be sticking with the car and am still in touch with the guy who sold me it keeping him updated. He seems as disappointed as I am!
  16. An update if I may. The ipdm arrived and was replaced successfully. Sadly no change in symptoms. The bcm was then dismantled and showed historic water damage externally and internally, apparently most heavily around the immobiliser contact area. So now I either need a new bcm which hasn’t been coded or a second hand bcm and paired ecu and key. Hopefully Alex might have something suitable and I can put this disappointing episode behind me and actually drive the bloody thing!! I’ll let you know.
  17. Fingers crossed I should now by the end of the week, I’m really keen to drive her!! Happy New Year.
  18. Progress would be good, the cars sitting idle waiting for the auto electrician to come back from hols. It’s the potential of the unknown that’s daunting. The ipdm case was loose when I opened it and the inside gently mullered as well as crusty, so historic water ingress and mild butchering hopefully years ago. I am where I am and really appreciate the support, thank you.
  19. Merry Christmas to you too Junkyardbear. I’ve asked the previous owner about the water damage/ electrical gremlins and in the 6 months he owned the car had he no problems. Just bad timing for me I guess. I’m waiting for the ipdm to arrive and then the bcm and ecu diagnosis. I’ll buy you a pint should we ever meet to compensate for the financial loss.
  20. Thank you so much Guys, that’s really kind. I live near Rudgwick and ‘work’ at Dunsfold Aerodrome where I have a unit with a collection of classic Italian motorbikes. I’m spliced on the side of the Top Gear studio if you ever fancy a trip out.
  21. Zippypooz, if the one I’ve bought off of eBay doesn’t work can I get in touch and may I ask what the problem ended up being.
  22. Thank you Payco. I sourced one off of EBay yesterday and will see if this works. I hope a BCM and ECU are not needed and will communicate with Zmanalex for future bits.
