  1. I got a question about plenum spacers......if i buy a 5/16ths plenum with all the extended bolts and spacers for the plenum.....do i need anything to boost the hieght of the strut bar? I mention this because some plenum kits come with things to boost the height and some dont. So im curious as to which i need
  2. If we forget the tyres for a moment as now i am aware that these tyres are pants lol could we help me out with good options to do? Im not interestes in slamming the car to the floor....just thinking whats needed to improve overall handling from stock
  3. Regarding brakes... i currently have the gt with the brembo brakes....not that i actually think theyre any good as they are. Think i ruined my pads when i suffered brake fade from braking to a stop at over 150mph.... (on closed roads obvs) Would getting braided hoses do the trick here, new pads for my ruined ones? Btw my knowledge isnt the greatest on modifying cars
  4. The web developer in me would also suggest adding these figures to your own website so users can compare like for like.....just my 2 cents
  5. Falken front and rears, I recently had these fitted and they were set to oem pressures.
  6. I have no intention of offending you Ewen, but as a buyer i shouldn't have to ask, as all the information should be made readily available on the product page and this isnt just Clark Motorsport that give no figures for this particular clutch, they all seem to leave it out. Hence why in the end I went with something i knew about, sorry.
  7. Well here i am opening up in the lions den! I understand how the principals of suspension works but have no idea whats involved in changing over the suspension and what other parts i might require. Heres what im after, i notice that on fast corners the car sometimes feels as though it loses traction a little too early because of how fat she is, Id like a suspension set up that buries the back end to the floor a little better. I like the way the 350z has handling which reminds me of driving a gokart i just want it to grip a little more like one. Any suggestions on what i would need would be a massive help! Cheers
  8. tbf i looked into Nos, and i feel by the time youve paid for the install and the constant refills, as they look pricey! may aswell have gone for the FI route! To be honest i think long term, i want to first of all get the basic bolt on upgrades done and remapped. ie Dual flow Zorst, HFC's , Plenum (How expensive!?), free flow filter, possibly the idler pulley, then mapped! then im thinking about improving the handling, now this is where my knowledge really suffers haha but i would like to make the car hang on that little bit more when doing a fast corner before the rear starts to wanna overtake the front, but thats for the suspension thread. After this i think i would like to build the engine and then decide whether i want to go Turbo or Supercharger to make a killer sleeper car. whats peoples thoughts on reliability of either of these options as i know turbo is where more power can be accessed from but supercharger has way less to go wrong.
  9. Against majority advice i went for the JWT lightweight flywheel and clutch from Torqen purely on the basis that no one seems to be able to give exact figures for flywheel weight and clamping load of the Xtreme clutch, always something like " X Percentage better than oem" means nothing to me! Anyone have any feedback about the JWT kit?
  10. I dont know too much about Nos, a quick read told me that the 50/75 shot is apparently to do with the extra horsepower to be gained by using the Nos....In that case why 50/75 if the engine is fine for 400whp, could you not run 100shot?
  11. My knowledge of nos and its affects on the engine are next to nothing..... is it safe to boost with nos without upgrading internals??
  12. Its not for drag racing, it was more for getting the most of the car as i plan on having it as a daily / odd track day here and there, I do have the rays already on this DE, which is a good start, and im going to getting looking at weight saving including the parasitic idler pully. does anyone know the weight of the original leather heated seats? be good to have something to comapre to when shopping around. Cheers for all suggestions so far
  13. Hmmmm i will look into that idler pulley....i have access to a cnc machine so i imagine i could machine this spacer if i knew what it needed to be.....research needed here...... Is there any obvious weight savings but still keeping it a nice looking daily?? Also anything else as far as suggestions go keep em coming
  14. So i have a jwt lightweight flywheel and clutch on the way...getting a custom made dual flow exhaust done....i will be doing the plenum and air filter stuff and then going for a remap....but im wondering what else can we do to increase acceleration without fi......like lightening the flywheel etc.....i have heard you can change the final drive but what else??
  15. awesome let me know what its like, i think i will be looking at this one in the near future if you give it a good review haha
  16. Cheers Ben, After reading your comments and the links provided I have now successfully fitted my new Android Head Unit WAHOO! I did not purchase any ISO lead adapter set as i am happy soldering them together for a stronger fit. I originally soldered up the pre amp to the speakers wires but this was wayyyyyyyyy to quiet. so decided to do the "Buster" Mod and this worked a treat, the loudness was back!!! My neighbours will hate me for another day HURRRAAAHH Thanks again
  17. Its a DE. I have taken a look on your website and cannot find any weight information on the flywheel for the xtreme clutch flywheel combo.
  18. Any body recommend a decent lightweight flywheel and clutch combo that you can get here in the uk without ordering from outside the uk?
  19. anybody out there who's ever done this know any of the above? a lot of the links on this forum all have dead image links now so a lot of the guides are hard to follow
  20. Hi all, I have taken a look around the forum and cannot find any information all in one place that explains a few things which i will list below 1. why I might want to keep the Bose Amp in place over the new head units amplifier as i notice you can get leads for either occasion. 2. Do i really need these iso cable adapters? headunits always come with there own iso cable which surely i can just solder into the existing wiring right if there is information on what cables do what? 3. I have read somewhere that soldering improves speaker volume, though wasnt really clear to me what cables these were. 4. retaining steering wheel controls, again can i not just solder the cables from the new headunit into the existing? 5. Pac roem, No idea what these are for other than i believe you need them if you are keeping the original bose amp, on the websites that sell them doesnt really say why id need them either. Any help with this would be extremely helpful cheers
  21. Man reading this thread has totally put me off wanting to FI the 350Z, it just seems like a money pit with endless problems. Its a shame youve had such bad luck with yours, im guessing this is probably the case when you modify anything. I think when i reach the point where i want more power, i will sell and put the 20k into a car that was built to cope with that power from factory.
