    VQ35DE Wanted

Hi everyone, So further to some conversations and very helpful advice from Zmanalex, Jon@Emperor & Mark@Abbey, I find myself in the market for a DE non revup Engine to swap into my 06 revup. Due to the fact that it's a stronger engine by all accounts and the revups are a bit thin on the ground at the moment, I'm going to go down this route. if anyone has / knows of one for sale, I'd really appreciate and help you can give me. Thanks in advance everyone!

    Rev Up Engine

Would it not play havoc with the electrics? Can I give you a call on Tuesday morning so we can talk through a couple of different options? Thanks in advance!

that is one thing I love about the 350Z's engine, you basically surf around on a wave of torque! Ah ok! Considered that myself many years ago, I've got a mate who's in subs and he claims that he's sailed round the world 5 times and seen none of it! Without giving too much away I work for a manufacturer and spend my weekends at tracks. Today was a bastard; Brands - Silverstone - Donington - Oulton.. I've always been tempted by an LS swap but when you start getting to that level of work, money, etc imo you can buy too much Porsche for similar money

  7. I think I see the problem here Moving from overseas and having no records with UK insurers will push the price up significantly as they essentially act like this time didn't exist... I believe that there theory is whilst you may have a squeaky clean record for this period, they can't verify it What may be possible though is getting a letter sent over my your previous insurers from the other country you were in before the UK, however I doubt this would drop the quote significantly.. To give you some perspective, my colleague who is French, 28 and female with no points and no accidents (despite being a stereotypically french driver) is paying about £1k a year for a suzuki swift What will probably help to reduce the quote is doing an advanced driving course, again I'm not sure by how much! Best thing to do really is be patient and shop around
  9. Excellent choice, from what I've been told these things are absolute weapons!

    Rev Up Engine

Sounds mega mate! Always loved the idea of a JZ engine in the car! Going by the word 'deployment' I presume you're Army/Navy/RAF? I'll ask someone over the weekend as I have a couple of clients who race our cars in various guises and are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of thing! I've asked around a couple of engine builders I know about rebuilds and I'm waiting to get quotes back, but I doubt it would be cheaper in terms of the amount of work involved. Due to my own job I'm away from home for long periods of time and when I'm not, work is pretty full on so I don't really want to come home and work on an engine.. That said, out of all the cars I have driven; racing, exotic classic or otherwise, the 350Z never fails to put a smile on my face and I'm going to push to get her on the road again so in the rare moments I do actually have free time I can actually drive it!!

    Rev Up Engine

About £2k seems to be the going rate if fully functional going by my research over the last few days! Let me know if you go down that route as I may be interested! What are you thinking of putting in there instead??
  12. Thanks chaps, I'm hoping she'll be back in action soon.. just need to get my hands on an engine!
  13. Not mine, but it is a friends! 370Z GT4 at Misano a couple of weeks ago
  14. I always regret not hanging on for a blue one.. Looks awesome mate
  15. Just wondering if the person who owns the orange Z and works for MSV at Brands is on here? Literally see your car every day on my way to work and have yet to find the time to come and say hello!

    Rev Up Engine

Following the demise of my big end this morning, I find myself in the market for a new engine.. I've done the usual internet searches without much luck and was wondering if anyone around here had one lurking around? Thanks in advance for any help, its very much appreciated in this dark hour!!
  17. As a long time lurker, it's a shame that it took my engine self destructing to get me to post on here, but that's life.. The Z is the first car I've owned which I've truly bonded with and hopefully she'll be back on the road in the not too distant future. My previous car was a 320si which was an absolute nightmare, and apart from my current mechanical maladies the Z has been faultless. Apart from that, my day job involves working on the safety side of motorsport, and if anyone is looking for a bit of help with anything feel free to get in touch. If I don't have the answer, I'll be able to get it.
