Oops read that wrong...old soundproofing mats are taped down but on the new stuff the foam is already sticky and I just spray glued the vinyl onto the foam...

So decided to sound proof it as road noise was proper doing my tits in... First up the boot was layered in 10mm closed cell foam with a 2mm vinyl layer glued on top... Lining the boot made a small difference. Next up was taking the whole rear interior out and place sound proofing over the arches... Both arches behind rear locker and subwoofer had NO sound proofing which is a joke really... ...and the tops had a tiny bit of tar stuff.. So covered the tops... Behind locker and placed the standard crap soundproofing mat thing further back which wasnt glued down so was just sliding about... ...and behind subwoofer. Car was peaking around 82db at 50mph and now floats around 75db. Doesn't sound like much but thats nearly 20% quieter...defo at must for these cars.
  4. If you let the car idle and rev it...it takes longer but still happens
  5. A bit late but I found this whilst googling axle click which mine may have....after maybe 5 seconds of driving it makes a click/buzzing sound and my old Focus ST made the exact noise at the same time...I am pretty damn sure its the AC compressor clutch springing back...
  6. Do you do a forum discount too? Will be weeks yet anyway until I clutch/flywheel.
  7. 6kg is 13lbs so sounds about right. You find a lightweight flywheel too annoying or decent?...the HR I have definatly needs to rev more freely to liven it a bit.
  8. Does the RTS performance clutch come with new braided line and slave like the jwt clutch/ flywheel combo? Whats the weight of the RTS flywheel? Cheers
  9. Picked this up a couple of weeks ago... First things first it needed an exhaust so 5 days later I bought a DC Sports cats back system. For some reason reviews on DC exhaust were bad as people said it drones and has horrendous rasp around 2500-3k rpm so company discontinued it and prices dropped. So took a gamble as I had an e46 M3 which is just rasp everywhere and turns out DC exhaust isn't actually that loud, no drone at all and absolutely zero rasp and it is very good quality and pretty cheap. Only slight problem was a couple bolts could have been 10mm longer to make fitting easier and bolts supplied were made of chocolate so a couple stripped just normally tightening but DC exhaust was a good buy....decats to come I think.
