  1. A man sees a sign outside a house - 'Talking Dog For Sale.' He rings the bell, the owner appears and tells him the dog can be viewed in the back garden.

The man sees a very nice looking Labrador Retriever sitting there.

"Do you really talk?" he asks the dog.

    "Yes," the Labrador replies.

After recovering from the shock of hearing the dog talk, he man asks, "So, tell me your story."

The Labrador looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the SAS.

"In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one imagined that a dog would be eavesdropping.

"I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years.

But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at Heathrow to do some undercover security work, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded several medals. I got married, had a few puppies, and now I've just retired."

The man is amazed. He goes back into the house and asks the owner how much he wants for the dog.

    "Ten quid," the owner says.

"£10 !!? But this dog is absolutely amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?"

"Because he's a lying bas**rd. He's never been out of the garden."

  2. Horsepower isn't the issue (i7, 12GB, 980 on my main PC!), after all it's just an internet link to a stream.

Sorry Ekona, don't know the answer then as to why yours is poor quality and dropping out.

Watched a few films over the weekend on it superb quality, its connected up to my Sony Bravia big screen TV via HDMI.

  3. I don't have a separate Kodi box, I use the software on my full PC. Maybe it's just the links on mine then, but they're nothing more than acceptable and in SD.

Do you have links for a full HD stream then?

Yes bought a proper Kodi Box separate not just just downloaded the software, Get full HD and also set up for 4K.

Not expensive about £40 for a full access one, but you need to keep the firmware up to date.

  4. Define perfect?

For me, it'll be stable up until the point it disappears completely, but in terms of quality it's SD at best. And no 5.1 either! This is all on 40meg.

Have you done all the firmware updates on the Kodi Box. I have Sky + HD and I agree its not as good obviously, but its not bad either and I don't get picture breakup or loose the link, I agree some addons are better than others, its a question of been patient and finding them, then noting where they are.

  5. And probably soon, since there's a court case going on now to determine their legality and you can guess which way that's going to end up.

Trouble with those boxes, and indeed all those internet-based things, is that the quality is dreadful compared with the real thing. I've yet to find a stream that's HD and stable, and whilst SD is fine on a phone when you put it on a TV it looks shocking.

Ive got Sky and Kodi. I use Kodi for Indi and NASCAR racing always get a perfect picture. No interference or breakup think it depends on your broadband speed. Also its great for Sky rip off Pay Per View and films.
