  1. They came off the rear of my car. Im moving them to the front. Got rota gtr-d for the back.
  2. Bitten the bullet and gone for 20mm can always space the backs out as well if it looks silly. Will get some pics up of the new setup. The rear rota d's are looking amazing.
  3. No idea on what i need to clear, thats why its a bit of a gamble, the guy who fit the tyres just said the wheel wouldn't go on. I asked by how much and he said the threads were coming through, but the wheel wouldn't sit on the hub. Thats what i'm thinking, maybe i will just go for 20mm and just leave the backs.
  4. Hello, I am having fitment issues with my 9.5j rota gtr's on the front, its hitting the calliper. The threads do come through, but the wheel wont even sit on the hub. The obvious fix is to go for some hubcentric spacers, i'm wondering what i can get away with, does anyone have any advice from experience. I wanted to go for 15mm spacers if i could get away with it, as if i go 20mm i will need to also buy 5mm to go on the back to even it all up (backs are et12 gtr-d's) Should i just play it safe and get the 20mm or will i be ok with 15mm? Thanks
  5. The idea was to get coilovers in due course, however without coilovers it may look better if i went for 10j all around? Would still be quite a nice dish all round, probably wouldn't need camber bits and arch rolling? May be a cheaper alternative and still achieve what i'm after, could just be a straight swap im guessing? Also the 10js are a tad cheaper.
  6. I am lowered on Tein springs 17mm front 14mm rear i believe. I believe that you are going to need archwork AND camber no matter tyre you go with, but someone who has done it may want to disagree. The reason I think this is because I have my wheels spaced out to be almost flush (20mm front, 25mm rear), and your fronts will stick out 23mm more than mine, that will give them a nice poke, not too extreme, but hte rears... 32 mm wider than mine!?...it's going to look ridiculous if you don't add a lot of camber, regardless of tire size. How low are you? Basically, roll front and rear and add camber as needed. These wheels are wide but aren't super extreme, it won't be a nightmare to make them fit, just a bit of a pallava. If i am adding camber, do i need some camber arms ect, sorry for being clueless, first time with this kind of thing.
  7. This is great info thanks. Its more the rubbing on arches that im worried about on the wider wheels with 40's. Theres next to no info online about the setup i am wanting. So i wanted some advice really. Whats the likeliness of 255 and 275/40/18 rubbing on both the front and rear? I guess i could get them all rolled. Thanks
  8. So i have decided on some rota gtr-d's: 10j front et12 12j rear et20 I am unsure what tyres to go for, one person i have seen is running: 245 35 18 275 35 18 I am wondering if i would get away with: 245 40 18 275 40 18 As i don't want the ride to be really crashy. Also is it most likely that i will need to roll the arches with either tyre size? Front and rear or just rear? Thanks
  9. This is what i'm after, just the spec on that site is incorrect as they wheels aren't available in that size. I have tried to contact who i thinks is the car, will see if i get a response. https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery/275/wheel-offset-2004-nissan-350z-custom-rims
  10. Depends on the offset If i was to sell my gtrs and replace with a full set of gtr-d's what offsets would i need if i ran 18" - 12j rear and 18" 10j front? And would i need arch rolling?
  11. Another option i have been looking at is to move the rears onto the front and get some gtr d's for the rear. Maybe get 11-12 inch. Would my 10j gtrs (currently on the rear) fit up front? Or would it rub?
  12. Thanks for the replies everyone, some helpful stuff. I do like some of the JR wheels, im not that clued up on wheels, would it be a bit of a downgrade going to jr's from rotas? Thanks
  13. These are my 18 Matte Bronze GTR's possibly selling these soon if you are interested, they are mint condition and on MPPS:
  14. Hello, Im looking for a change to my Rota GTRS, great wheels, i'm just a bit bored with them. Im looking for something as dished as possible that will fit a 305z, and i prefer a matte finish to silver, 19" and i can get the arches rolled. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, how much would my GTRS be worth, they are 18" with mpss all round, perfect condition and plenty of tread, matte bronze. Thanks.
  15. What is the advantage of the thermal?
  16. How much would that set me back? which one should i go for? i can see loads out there. Thanks
  17. Thanks for the replies, think i will give the spacers a miss. I did actually but a wireless obd, but i could never get it to connect. Best get saving for an uprev then!
  18. I have tried to search this but cant find an answer close enough to what i'm asking. I have recently had Berk HFC's installed and already had a cobra back with stock y pipe. My EML now comes on after 2-3 days (i do fairly short journeys, apart from at the weekend). Im wondering if 02 spacers will sort this, as i thought they were already built into the berks? But i'm guessing adding spacers will just extend the built in ones and may sort the issue? Is this worth a try? Thanks in advance. *edit: I cant afford an uprev at this moment in time, so that isn't an option right now.
  19. Guys - I have this same issue - what's this penny trick I hear of brillomaster? Welcome and good looking zed Jamie! Here you go: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/35706-the-penny-trick/
  20. Hmm. Im tempted to just replace the rears, even if it is a fair bit more, i think as well as sorting the slip light issue it may also fill the arch out more and make the ride height look more even, i always thought that it looked an odd angle from the side. With the teins do you think it would scrub at all? I think it should be fine, there looks to be loads of room at the moment between the tyre and arch.
  21. Car as it stands: Yes i am aware that they are very good tyres although if there not the correct size, i will change the sizing once the michellins are worn. And for the type of driving i do, i think the Falkens will suffice judging by previous reviews.
  22. Thanks everyone for the replies, really apprechiate it, some great info here. Tyres are Michelin Pilot Super Sports, which are pretty expensive in the current size. They also have a lot of tread left, once the tread wears down on them i will replace them with Falkens, but the slip light isnt such a servere problem to replace them yet i dont think?
  23. Ok so i picked up my 350z last month and im absoloutely loving it, however there are some niggles that i am hoping some of the more experienced 350z owners can help me with. Although none of these issues are terminal, it would be great if i could get it running as perfectly as possible. The car is an 04 model with 88k on the clock, it has been very well looked after and is almost spotless. The niggles: 1.Slip light, this seems to come on quite easily when applying power, even when its dry, my friend has the same car and his doesnt come on half as much. Now the car has been fitted with rota gtrs 18inch all round tyres: Front: 225 45 18 Rear: 265 40 18 and lowered on tein springs. Im wondering if the springs or tyre sizes are causing the issue? If so, would resetting the ecu help in any way? 2. The handbrake is utterly useless, i have to apply it with the power of thor to have peice of mind on a hill start, which makes the hill start actually quite tricky when unapplying the thor'ed handbrake. I have searched this and this is a common problem, however i wondered if you guys had any tips? 3. Boot lifters are shocking, it takes quite some distance of lift to actually get the boot to lift on its own. Is it worth just replacing the lifters or trying the penny trick? I read the penny trick has damaged some cars. 4. Cockpit gets crazy hot, its rare i dont have the cold fan on at least 1/3rd at all times. It does have a cobra catback system on and i believe the hottest part sits underneath the footwell? Thats it really, Im just looking for any advice going foward / reassurance on anything as a new 350z owner Thanks for anyones time. Jamie
  24. I had a look under the car today and it seems the tips are removable on mine. Maybe it differs from production year. I will probably remove them and try it myself with a blowtorch.
