  1. mmmm the rear nankangs were fine before fitting the new RS3 tho with no slip unless giving it some with traction off ..might be the new RS3 needing to bed in as you say ...and okay im going to refit the spigots after iv used some wet and dry behind the 3 original rotas that were tight. id prefer not having to pull the wheels onto the hubs via tightening the nuts . never sanded powder coat before so hope wet&dry sandpaper does the job They were fine up until this time when the roads are cold, possibly greasy etc, thats why you lost it. Says more about the conditions that the tyres. Ref the spigots, did you fit them in the alloy or onto the hub before fitting the wheels? yea i see your point ..the weather has changed rapidly since fitting them. and i pushed the spiggots onto the wheel then placed the wheel on the hubs . the brand new rota was easy ...the spigot just slid on and wheel went on easy flush to the hub with no effort. the original 3 rotas were a different story.....i had to really push the spigots on holding one side on while i pushed the other side of the spigot to get them on the wheels. then they wouldn't sit flush to the hubs so had to do the wheel lugs up a bit at a time (like when using a torque wrench) to pull the wheel flush to the hubs May have missed/forgot this, so none of the wheels had spigots? I guess it's possible that the 3 older wheels have been referred as you say, leading to thicker PC. Have you access to a vernier to accurately measure the diameter of the centre of the wheels? yes that's correct ...non of the wheels have had spigots fitted which seems odd as previous owner (forum member) didnt come across as the type to take short cuts so maybe he tried fitting them and had similar problems? and yea iv got a vernier somewhere ...will dig it out and check but im quite certain the bore tightness is due to the alloys been re-powdercoated at some point
  2. as far as i and other people could see mate ...we checked suspension parts , arms etc ..bushes are seated correctly and nothing bent ....plus im sure the garage would of said if anything was remotely wrong so they could bleed more cash on repairs lol. i will double check once iv got the wheels off again tho

  5. was the only colour that seemed to complement the orange tan seats etc .actually stole the idea off a forum 350 lol.next year its getting hydrodipped properly but not yet decided on colour yet ...will probably go gloss black carbon background with a orange weeve intwined if available. iv seen orange/black carbon wrap on ebay and it looks mint but not sure if available in hydrodip
  6. do you meen odd balance as in nearly new RS3 and new RS3 on the front? everything was fine with this combo before fitting the replacement RS3 on the new OSF rota gtr . it really was in my mind too slow a speed for it to kick out ....if id of been caning it with traction off i would of expected the out come . im going to take the spigots off Sunday and see how it feels as wasn't keen on the way they fitted to the original 3 rotas ...im assuming they've been re powder coated at some point hence the tight fit on the hubs with the spigots fitted .
  7. to be fair i wasnt keen on the nankangs at first ( going off rumors) but they do seem to grip very well ...i think they are ns2 or something like that
  8. front went on roundabout and rear kicked out on way back on a slight right bend. both times at 10-15 mph and scared the crap out of me how it lost control at so slow speed
  9. darnt spend another penny atm mate ..just forked out 1500 for sevice and mods and then 800 on repairs from hitting that curb .i strongly suspect id be waking up nutless if I spend anymore before xmas .
  10. spigots from trader on here mate .
  11. the original rainsport 3 on the OSF has plenty of tread . the brand new rainsport 3 on the NSF is a week old but only been out today from its fitting last week. the rears are 6 week old nankangs ...excuse spelling lol
  12. only other thing different than tyres is iv fitted spigot rings . the new rota gtr was fine but the original 3 rotas were very tight going on the hubs with the spigot rings fitted and had to pull the wheels back to the hubs via tightening the lug nuts one by one . could this cause the car to slip?
  13. yea there fitted so the inside / outside markings are correct but it just looks weird as the tread patern runs backwards on the new tyre
  14. hi guys ... should the new NSF rainsport 3 tyre have the same directional tread as the OSF rainsport 3 ? i rang the supplier last week and mentioned it but he said they were asymmetrical and it didnt matter. reason i ask is iv just been out driving very steady and nearly lost the car twice . something is very wrong. edit yes traction control was on
  15. ford electric orange ..had to spray it due to a relative thinking he could hydrodip

    spigot rings on Rotas

Because the alloys are designed to be used on lots of different vehicles the centre bore at the reverse of the alloy is always large so that it will fit a variety of vehicle hubs, ....you just need to select the spigot ring to suit your vehicles hub diameter. sorting it with mitz now ...cheers for heads up
