  1. Oh god! I tired that clutch adjustment guide but went too far and the pedal wasn't returning all the way up so had to turn it back again. Might give it another bash and not go as far... see if it makes a difference. Are draining the clutch and steering fluid easy to do on a zed? It's not somthing I've tried before
  2. If this duel mass flywheel/clutch was on the way out could this all be signs of this dull intermittent light knocking/pulsing from the clutch when it's pressed in? The bite point is really high and it shudders a little bit unless you feather the accelerator a bit. Starting to wonder why I bought it!! Hahaha
  3. Heard there's some heat shield / under tray thing that can be loose and also cause a noise? Wonder if it's both! It does sound horrendous as you can hear. I've sourced an aftermarket arm new so will stick that on and see if it it sorts it. Just wanted to find out if where was any other culprits! Then it's on to the grinding noise when turning tight/hard right and the pulsing I've noticed coming from the clutch?! Although heard that can be a zed trait :?
  4. Forgot to say car is an 55 plate on 56k miles
  5. Sorry for posting these again. Tried on a couple other threads but haven't got an answer. I bought the car with a dull clunking sound that could be heard at low speeds on uneven roads. My first thought was it was down to worn front drop links so replaced them. This cured the clunking to some extent but it's been replaced with a definite knocking/creaking. It sounds all kinds of awful. It sounds like it's front near side/central. Are roll bar bushes prone to going as well? Previous owner told me it was solid underneath and sailed through its mot. Is this noise more than likely the bushes in the compression/banana arm? Sound more creaky here Really hope I Havnt bought a lemon Many thanks.
  6. Next time will be a two or three day effort. Head up north of Ullapool. Couldn't get leave from work so time was against up. Decided we might try down south soon... head to the Isle of Man maybe
  7. Hope that is the same knocking anyway or will be worried?
  8. We were lucky. Both days were nice and sunny
  9. I can be more specific with the road names if you boys are gonna be up that way. Get them into the satnav. The kinloch level loop road round the loch is first class
  10. We went from Edinburgh through breamar up to nair, then the back roads across to strathcarron. Spent a night there then came down the twisties to fortwilliam and down passed glencoe back home. The Wee alpine pass looking road is the bealach Na ba. It's a single track that goes to applecross through the mountain whole trip was just shy of 500miles.
  11. Went away for the weekend there up past Inverness with a couple mates. Thought I'd share some of the roads/scenery
  12. Cheers guys I actually bought a k1 but decided to go for something more standard looking so got it up for sale. Just sorting out the knocking/creaking it's got. Think it's the compression arm as already changed the drop links. Hoping the new arm cures the problem!
  13. Stick me as a backup if sales falls through also í ½í±í ¼í¿¼
  14. Welcome bud. New guy myself! And experiencing this dreaded knocking! Mine was more a f/n/s clunking so I changed the drop links which sorted that... But now there's a definite sinister sounding knocking. I'm guiessing it's the banana arm... I managed to get a replacement arm on eBay for only £30 (guy bought and didn't use). Figure I'll see if that shuts it up first then can look at getting better ones/poly bushes in the future.
  15. Well I replaced the drop links which made a huge different to the constant dull clunking noise you would hear on uneven road. But now that's gone it's been replaced with a definite knock noise that's now and again when the road gets a bit lumpy. Weird thing is it sounds kinda central instead of left or right. I'm gonna try and replace the front passenger banana arm and see if that sorts it. Will try the aftermarket first as I don't really want to spend £250 on an oem part for that to not be the issue! Are the antroll bar bushes common for going? or should I jump straight to this bloody banana ha. Cheers The noise....
  16. Are these aftermarket banana arms good enough? Seems a huge price between the Nissan ones (about 250 each) and the ones you can find via websites and eBay (about 60 each). My car has this dreaded knocking/clunking on the front near side and it's awful. I'm replacing the drop links tomorrow as his seems like the first step (and the left one has play) but sounds worse than just drop links to me so banana will be next!
  17. Hey guys! here she is I'm about 10 mins from the airport, near corstorphine. Good to know there's a fellow member close by
  18. Alright chaps. Been lurking for a long time prior to purchasing the zed! Looked and three and ended up with a 55 plate silverstone with 56k. Totally standard GT spec. Good base for some upgrades. Located in Edinburgh. There doesn't actually seem to be many going about! Already finding this a very useful forum so thought I would introduce myself before I start pestering the community! 😂 Cheers
