After 4 weeks playing with fibreglass the new spoiler made from scratch is painted no fitted, really happy with the outcome, I gave the car a detail and hard wax with blue dodo juice to restore the paints protection after the machine polishing I gave the car last weekend.

  3. You need a high viz vest, breathalyser, emergency triangle and first aid kit for driving in europe, I bought mine of eBay for £15.00. Tyres have to be above 3mm I think for Germany you'd want more for the track.

If you have xenons you don't need beam adjuster stickers, to be fair I didn't use them on my last 2 years of the ring, once in a new mini and the 370z, I didn't have the stickers and had no problems.

You don need a helmet or any safety clothing for driving the nordschleife as it's classed as a German road.

Buy a ring card from the Nurburgring website, I paid £100ish for a 4 ring card, arrived after a week or so and meant I could drive straight to the barrier and onto the track and didn't have to go to the office, wait and buy laps. (No price difference buts save so much time)

Main thing I learn warm your brakes up on the way to the track and on the 1st mile of the track, I didn't and didn't have any brake problems, my brother didn't in the xkr and after a lap had brake judder all the way home, think iphe had to get new brakes.

Have fun and stay right to be over taken and you'll be fine

  4. Valy im loving your thread, you have balls to cut your arches. With the work and prep your doing I'm sure it will look great and your arms will ache after all that blocking down 😄.

Where did you get the air system from? I've been looking for the same for my 370, a lad at work has it in his BMW. He installed it himself a very simple system.

  5. I drove the Nurburgring last year, I made a 350z k1 system fit my 370z. Without bungs I drove the ring no problem and wasn't turned away.

The wife admittedly thought it was far to loud and to be nice to the neighbours I have fitted the bungs with extra db killing wadding in the cans and a extra silencer fitted mid system. With all this I registered 95db at castle Combe for a track day.

  6. Hi chaps,

To be honest I didn't think about drag but after some research I decided to chop the spoiler in half and start again.

  9. Small update, after a lot of grinding, sanding and itching over the weekend I now have a perfect and symmetrical fit.

I ground out all the soft/flexible fibreglass and I'll re-fibreglass all the holes and give it a skim tomorrow.

  10. Also I had the door handles colour coded, I can't understand why Nissan would leave them silver, very happy with the outcome although they were a huge pain in the arse to refit because of the central locking plug 15cm in the door and only accessible if you have tiny hands.

  11. Ive been looking at spoilers and had settled to buy a ducktail, but I really like the rocket bunny and liberty walk spoilers and kits as I plan to buy a moonbeam wide arch kit in th next couple of months so though I'd give a go at making my own spoiler.

This is after 35hrs, I still have another 15-20hours till it's ready to paint

I offered it up against the car this morning, there was a 1inch gap on the front corners, after 10 minutes of grinding the base it sat with on 2-5mm gaps. A quick skim of Bridger and it now fits with 100% contact on the boot lid. I'm leaving it to set for the day and then I'll continue rubbing down and chamfering the edges.

  12. The blocks are on every brand I've worked for, Ford to BMW and must be removed as part of the pdi (pre delivery inspection when new to the dealership). Every dealer I've worked in has a tick sheet for this check and is signed by the technician.

  13. Great to see you Andy and Ian, Ian the car looked great, a nice manly purple.

I think the show was a great concept but was a disappointment, we left after 1 hr. We had a 8hr round trip. 1.5k on Facebook to attend, there wasn't more than 200 cars, no 370z's and only 3 trade stands, I expected more from a magazine hosting a show like the maxpower days at the NEC.

Looking forward to forge on 2 weeks with z back on the road.

    Cheers

  14. Thanks chaps, Leosille the car drove without a fault, held the track really well.

My painter cancelled on me, so took the extra couple of days to prep as it now going to my local bodyshop which happens to be the approved Ferrari and Porsche repairer .

Ive always liked the usa front bumper look, removed the front number plate plinth and found holes, after a couple of hours its now flushed over and number plate dropped a inch lower.
