  1. Alight folks, wasn't sure what section to put this in so I just settled for here. Anywho, has anyone ever had their engine carbon cleaned? The process hinvolves injecting hydrogen into the intake and then just letting your car run on idle for 30 mins. This apparently cleanses the carbon deposits in the engine thus improving all sorts of things according to them. What's the story? Is it worth the money? I see the logic in it but surely a good drive with a heavy right foot every now and again would do the same trick? Opinions?

  2. TapaTalk can **** off  They have their own issues lately so I'm not taking an issue viewing through TapaTalk as an issue with the forum.

For clarification - I can see it fine. As to can other members. This would suggest it's isn't the issue we encountered earlier in the week that I rectified.

Yeah it's probably just because I'm viewing through tapatalk. Suppose I'll have to do it the old fashion way.

  3. Yeah white worm sounds familiar, I knew there was a name for it. It's really horrendous looking.

I thought there might have been a quick fix but them hopes have been dashed :(

I don't think I could leave it as it is, every time I walk past my car it's the first thing I always notice so something has to be done. I'll probably go for a full refurb at some stage. Cheers for the advice bud.

  4. Hi all, I have these strange scratch type marks on my alloys. They were on it when I bought the car so I'm not quite sure where they have came from or what's caused them (possibly stones flying around the dish?). Has anyone seen anything similar on their wheels and what do you think would be best to remove them? Cheers lads.

  5. Got this sorted on Saturday morning so stock cats are back in!

The decats were a little disappointing I thought - I had done a lot of reading about them but didn't realise they were as raspy as there were in real life! Also I had noticed a little torque loss when fitted - but in fairness I had no mapping done. This was confirmed when I took the car for a blast after the oem cats were refitted. Now pulls like a train.

Did the pedal dance too and cleared the EML.

It's funny, I thought I noticed more torque with the cats in after I went from decats -> cats, but you don't really notice a loss the other way around, so I'm happy enough. I enjoy the noise too much as it is though, although I'm not sure I could make it a daily with the decats in!

I'll second this, I definitely noticed a loss in torque when I put the decats in. Also doesn't feel like it's pulls as well top end. I haven't got round to mapping mine yet either so I'm sure that would sort any issues anyway.

Alright lads, I've managed to have a stone chip on my window which is developing into a crack 😢 I've bought a repair kit of eBay (rainX). Has anyone had any dealings with these kits and do they work?

  7. So thats how I sound from the outside world ðŸ˜

Haha but yes it definitely isnt quiet but I have never found it too loud for everyday driving!

Saying that I am still gonna go down the HFC (mayyyybe decat) route!

Well if you are looking to go down that route here is a vid of my zed with an Ark Grip and Invidia test pipes. They sound great with or without them to be honest 😠I forgot how mine sounded without them to be honest though.

  9. It's funny that, I wonder what causes it to lose the low end torque? The uprev has to get put on the back burner as I'm off to the Euros for a few weeks. Really gutted as I wanted to get it done before I went but there was a delay in getting the test pipes in 🙠Not to worry though, the main thing is I absolutely love the sound. Between 2-3k rpm the car is really quiet at cruising speed but anything below or above and the beast is unleashed!

  10. Ok folks I've got the test pipes fitted to my car today. A bit embarrassing as I meant to do a before and after video but only realised when I was half way through the job so I'll just have to put up an after video 😳. It is mated with my Ark Grip system, and people here said it would be loud but I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. The car sounds incredible!! I know the raspiness is like marmite to people but I love it!

A few things I've noticed though that I wonder if anyone else has. The car doesn't feel as quick through the gears as it did before and it also doesn't feel as torquey? Is there a reason for this or is it all in my head?

The next stop is down to TDP for a remap to tie it all together. I'll get a video up later on once I stop driving around like a child at Christmas.

  11. Will do, I tried to fit them on Saturday but once I got a look under the car and seen a few rusty bolts on the cats I got disheartened very quickly and gave up as I didn't want to start breaking bolts. I have more time this weekend when I get home so hopefully I'll get them on and get a few vids posted 😃

If you haven't already on Friday once your exhaust/Cats have cooled down I'd spray all the bolts and nuts with some WD40 or similar penetrating fluid to try & make everything come apart that bit easier.

Also there is a guide here, although it is for fitting HFC's still thought it might help. ;)

    Good luck.

Thanks buddy I'll give that a go and see how I get on. These jobs always seem so easy in your head until you start them don't they!

  13. Just came home today to a lovely box of goodness from Tarmac Sportz. It contained some lovely Invidia test pipes. These are about to be mated to my Ark Grip system. Is anyone running a similar set up? Thanks to Tarmac Sportz for the swift delivery given the lead time.

  14. I have an Ark Grip fitted and I find it quiet enough in the cabin to hold a conversation. Even while idling you would think it was standard. But it still sounds really good through the Rev range. Waiting on invidia test pipes to be delivered now though so I'm sure that will all change for me lol
