  1. I couldn't find a topic on this when I searched so perhaps it's not a common issue but my volume knob on the stereo front seems to always want to make my Lighthouse Family albums go louder. I generallly notice that when I turn it down one click it will often increase the volume one click. Also on times when I have wanted to quickly turn the volume down a lot (such as at 8am when I jump in the car for work and I've had the tunes cranked up the night before) it almost seems like my attempt is futile. Clearly this isn't much of an issue, but I would like to know if there is a simple way to overcome it?
  2. Stafford.....I often see an Orange 350Z around the Weston Road....might this be you?
  3. There was far too much life left on my clutch to warrant a replacement. Clearly the slave had just developed a small weeping leak that had just dribbled down the side of the bellhousing. I cannot see a scanrio where the slave could fail in such a catastrophic way that fluid would reach the clutch. I can understand why, when paying a garage a significant amount of money, it would make sense to change the clutch if the car has covered some milage. However being a RWD car the gearbox off is a very straightforward and speedy job, therefore for me 'if it aint broke (or about to brake) then don't fix it.'
  4. I thought all the cost saving by NIssan was made through the (lack of) rear sound deadening.....not cool
  5. Well it seems this car has been revived as it passed me this week on th Tixall Road.
  6. I really do love my car but there's one thing that annoys me. My passenger window goes down with one touch, as does my drivers. However it does not come back up with one touch, I have to hold it. This may sound minor but I often lock the car and then realise the window isn't closed on the passenger side, potenitally allowing any scallys passing by to steal my Celine Dion CD collection. Is this normal on all 370z's?
  7. Hello all, I've tried searching but cannot get the search function to work so figured I would start a new thread. Whilst driving recently my pedal started feeling spongy and within in a mile or two had dropped to the floor. I figured it was a hydraulic issue as I've never had any issues with the clutch. Whilst I waited for the tow truck I noticed a few drips of clutch fluid appear on the floor. A few days later when I had chance to get under the car I couldn't for the life of me see any trace of where the fluid had come from however a quick google indicated a common issue on the 370Z's being the clutch slave cylinder (CSC) failing. This would tie in with what I am experiencing, and also the fact that I couldn't see any obvious signs of the fluid coming from anywhere. I suspect a little has found it's way out of the bottom of the bellhousing. I'm not a great fan of taking my car to garages as I generally feel like everything is rushed and often cars don't come back the same, so I'm going to do it myself. Ohh and saving over £500 on labour is another plus! Being rear wheel drive it looks very straight forward. A new CSC from Nissan weighed in at £115 Have many people have this issue?
  8. Any ideas what is going on with the search function on this forum? I'm new to the forum and wanting to have a look around to see what has been posted but every time I click on the search window I get a new window pop out and it directs me to a singles website!
  9. Whilst in Nissan in Stafford this week I spotted a blue 370z. Sadly it was looking rather sorry for itself and according the guys in Nissan was causing the owner some issues, apparently due to som poor modifications. Bizzarely I went to look at this exact car earlier in the year in a garage in Brum when I was searching for my own.
  10. Thanks for the replies. I did investigate the bot issue when I first had the car as trying to open it with your hands full can be annoying. I read about people putting coins in to help the springs but then also read of it potentially causing damage and figured I'd rather the annoyance. I shall have to investigate the weight. As for the exhaust....well from time to time I do think about it, but it's a slippery slope! I was quite shocked to read about the 'exhaust mod' over the internet. It made me laugh, all these people talking about putting spacers between exhaust pieces. I'd hardly considering a modification. I expect that was most likely me. I am always back and forth through Cannock and I've yet to see another blue one in the area in the past 6 months. What are you driving? *Edited* I've just seen a picture on your profile of a very similar looking car to mine!
  11. It's been a while since I've used my photobucket account. Also threw in a picture of my bike for those interested. It occasionally wears some fibreglass fairings for track days.
  12. Good afternoon I've eneded up on the site once or twice following the purchase of my 370Z at the beginning of the year so figured I would join up and say hello. Here's my car, its a fairly standard 370Z bar Project MU brakes and Berk hi-flow cats, fitted by the chap I bought it from. I used to be rather big into the modified car scene many years ago but being slightly older now I spent my money on motorbikes and I don't envisage me doing a significant amount to the car. They look and go pretty well out of the box I think! I made the choice of the 370Z over a E90 M3. The Datsun is definitely the better looking car although the M3 trumps it in the performance department. In the end the Japanese reliability prevailed, after reading how troublesome and expensive the Beemers seem to be. I'm still over the moon with the car even after about 6-7 months of ownership and about 7-8,000 miles. All it's wanted so far is a pair of rear tyres...whoops! Ohh and a lot of wheel cleaning. The Project MU pads seem to be pretty dusty. Things I like: Noise, Torque, Blips on the downshift, Handling, Bose, Women telling me my car is 'hot,' people generally looking at the car and thinking its worth a lot more money than it really is, keyless.....and perhaps the biggest one of all MPG! I'm really suprised how economical this car is given it's engine capacity. I use it every day and really expected it to be far worse. Things I dislike: Not enough noise, SATnav with no postcode input, road noise, stero volume knob-occasionally makes the volume go up when I turn it down! Stupid f*******g boot release, visibility, inability to move steering reach I did just try to put some pictures on from dropbox but it said this forum does not allow???
