I will tighten the oil filler cap. The rubber bit on the end of the dipstick has slit so it won't pop in and cause the seal properly, could a loosely inserted dip stick really be the issue though?

So I topped up with some castrol edge 0w-30 yesterday as it was recorded from castrol oil selector on their website, (no idea what was in before as I just bought it) was driving fine then today after some spirited driving I got home parked up and noticed white smoke coming from under the hood and wheel arch front passenger side. I looked under car and can see oil leaking. This has never happend before, I included a video for your guys. Any help appreciated. Many of the lower parts of the car is covered in oil as you can see.

Nice list very helpful!

Stick with cold reading.

I found going thinner to be better, I just topped with Castrol Edge TSF 0w-30 oil. Noticeable performance improvement.
In fact Audi have now changed there stance on oil, recommending 0w-30 for year round use to its customers.
0w-30 is all the rage in NASCAR now aswell.
Had no problems at all since putting this oil in my 350z. Edge is an innovative oil, the Extra strength of the oil more than makes up for the thinner viscosity, at operating temp it will be same as 5w-30 or 10w-30 but at cold start up (UK most of the time) it will flow better giving less friction and better protection, and since 75% of engine wear is at start up, this is important.
NOTE*
EDGE is the only Castrol brand that is ACTUALLY fully synthetic, beware, although Magnatec and other mid-range oils say fully synth, they actually are not, its just that UK regulations means they can state this. The Magnatec in Germany for exmaple is not allowed to be labelled fully synth, Edge however is allowed to be labelled fully synth all across Europe, including Germany.

Thinking ahead as this year will be my first winter with the Zed. I'm from Reading and we don't get that much snow here, so hopefully will be able to use it all year round.
I do have an old 1.6 Ford focus as my other car, So I'll just use that if any days seem un-drivable for the Zed.
Which bring me to my point...
You can pick up an old CAT D Nissan Micra or similar 2nd hand for like £400. Either buy a cheap second hand FWD car (plenty out there) or Invest in some good quality Winter tyres.
I picked up my 2004 focus, CAT D at 150k miles for £900, had it for 2.5 years now and still going, passed MOT every time, only expense on it was new tyres, and 1 service.
I personally like the 2 car option as the type of car I'm talking about are inexpensive to tax, insure (admiral multi-car), and run.
Also really convenient to have for when your Zed is in MOT/Service/Repair/Performance Upgrade.
And remember.... even if you have the skills to drive the Zed out there in Snow/Ice, there's plenty of drivers out there that couldn't even handle a Land Rover in the snow and it's these drivers that I worry about slamming into my Zed.

UPDATE
Have since found out that the JDM models have a bulb soldered in rather than a bulb fitting.
Reason I know was cos I broke drivers mirror, saw a visor on eBay, bought it, received today, opened it up, went "MEH!" upon seeing soldered bulb, went to extract mirror glass, went to put mirror glass into my visor, cracked that, went "MEH!" again, went to Nissan to ask if they sold the mirror glass after looking in local motor factors, was told I would have to buy whole sun visor, asked how much, they didn't want to say, asked them again how much, they said £200 + VAT, went "MEH!!!" inside my head, thanked them and walked out, went to a local glass & mirror maker to see if they had off cuts, they did, cut me a piece for £3, was happy and went home, fitted new mirror glass and pointed LEDs upward by 45 degrees, less glare now much better, reassembled everything and job done
Is the specific to JDM? Mine is defo not a JDM (HPI, Chassis, & VIN confirmed) yet today I went to perform this Mod and found I too have soldered in bulb??

Also worth running a can of 10K Boost through the system, it's only about a tenner and you'd be amazed at the crap it will clean out
Where can I get 10K Boost from .?
Thanks.
Anybody tried this as well.. ?
That's the stuff I meant, I didn't realise they did a liquid in-tank solution too. Also didn't realise the spray was £20 now!
Definitely the spray, it's fantastic stuff.
Just ordered the tank stuff, will also get the pray, should be well clean then...
Personally I would use BG44k for the Fuel Additive, and 10K Boost spray through the air intake aswell, i use this now on all cars I have, it really does make a difference to performance and MPG.

Haha that sound awesome! Have a great time.
As a northerner now living in a southern world, I know the Manchester crowd will make that show the one to be at!
I honestly would rather be watching the Boys in south London, then sit in boring meetings in Mexico.

Haha I love Trailer Park Boys! I also spotted this in the movie, had to rewind to double check it was Zed!
I got tickets to see them live in Brixton 02 in September, but work just announced a business trip to Mexico that week, so looking to sell the tickets now if you are interested.

Sounds great! I'll be using them for my Service! As for my current issue, clutch pedal not fully returning. It seems to have fixed itself this morning, the clutch pedal is coming back and performing fine. I don't know if the issue was just temporary yesterday because of the Hot Weather.

He must be good, cos he's fully booked up until end of June! Someone mentioned in another post that AC Thames Valley MOT in Reading specialise in High performance cars, may be worth a shot. If not will go with TGM

Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a good Garage in Reading that is familiar with 350z.
I'm needing master and slave replacement, braided clutch lines upgrade and fluid bleed / replacement.
Thank you!

Just Bought this kit from Ebay for all the interior + number plate lights.

Different colours each side!
That got me thinking, how about subtle practical Neons,
For Example Red will illuminate at the rear only when breaking
Orange flash on the side in time with your indicators

Lol funny thread!
Well thanks for the input, I think the verdict is clear on this one.

Where is the oil filter and sump plug located? I will check these ASAP. Not sure if I have an oil cooler or not how can I check? No Mods other than KN air filter which previous owner installed, rest is all Stock.
