  1. Richesio... just round the corner from me....

Whereabouts are you? Seen a blue 350z in Horley a couple of times but each time I've been in other cars.

.....that's it, not flashing my lights and giving a wave to fellow zedders anymore. Getting fed up of being ignored :(

    Surrey folk!!!

I'm also in Surrey, but luckily I've come across lots of friendly people who wave back. I'm in East Surrey near Reigate/Redhill/Horley. You West Surrey?

Although, there is one silver 350z (06 plate) in Redhill who doesn't wave, but I continue to flash my lights and wave. I will break him down until he acknowledges me!!

Erm.....possibly. Not very good with directions. Pirbright (& sometimes Weybridge) heading towards Reading, go through loads of places but don't know the names. Is that west Surrey?

I get more waves in Reading, maybe I'm not posh enough for Surrey ;)

Ha, yeah, that'll be it, we don't like outsiders!!

Yes, Weybridge way is West Surrey, aka, the dark side.

  3. Hello!

Very quick question, we're moving and hiring a Ford Transit LWB, will this will take a regular sized double bed mattress? I'm no van driver, so have no clue.

I almost posted this in the other cars sections, but everyone is talking about GTR's, so this post is not worthy to go alongside those!!

    Thanks for your help.

  4. On my wheels/alloys there is rust on the inside part (not sure of the technical name for that part).

I've attached a photo below of what I'm talking about.

How would I go about getting this restored / fixed? Also, is there an safety or performance issues with them being like this?

Ps: Wasn't sure if this should go in the Tyres section, so sorry if it's not in the right area!

  5. I think I saw that one too near Three Bridges on Friday and then again at East Grinstead station over the weekend. Plate ending in YWY or similar? I'm often about that way in my dark blue zed, although no bodykit I'm afraid. Whereabouts are you?

I'm in Reigate (soon to be Horley). You local? Will look out for you!

I was in crawley saturday My 350 is black but totally standard

Hi Mike, it's Darren, saw you at the Shell roundabout. Finally signed up on here.

Hi darren. Good to see you on here. As you may have noticed there is a small meeting in sevenoaks on the 14th i think if your interested. When will you be moving to horley

Ah I didn't know that. Might be away but if I'm not I'll be sure to pop by, might be a last minute thing though. :)

  6. Posted a message last week because I saw 2 in and around Crawley and that shocked me, but today I saw 4 (all different and new spots)! Plus I can see someone else saw an orange one in Crawley today in another topic! Is Crawley the 350z capital?

First one was in Horley, on Balcombe round near the Kings Head pub. Was blue and reg was something like NH06. Had unusual lettering on number plate. Was a car in the way, so was hard to wave.

Second one was convertible silver import near the roundabout near the M23, looked like a woman driving. Was only last minute I spotted it, so didn't get any other info.

Third one was outside the Nissan garage (coincidence), silver think it was an import. We flashed and waved, think the passenger waved too, like the dedication!

Fourth one was on A217 in between Woodhatch and Hookwood and was silver on a 57 plate. I flashed but not sure if you saw me?

Think I'm going to have to get rid of the 350z now! I always liked it because it was rare, but it's common as muck now!

  8. Isn't the 0.9 that got slated by everyone including Watchdog because it cant go up a hill etc???

I remember watching that episode so I researched it and it turns out it's the 1.2 version (post April 2014). There's this article confirming it and a few comments from people on that article are saying get the twin air as it flies up hills. So that's good news.

You would think the 0.9 would struggle compared to the 1.2, but the stand 1.2 is 69bhp and the 0.9 is 105bhp. The ironic thing is the twin air is road tax exempt as it's meant to be more efficient, whereas it's not.

Ps: Good to see another Ipswich fan on here :)

    Come on boro!!!

That is very odd as my KA shares the same 1.2 from the 500 and goes up hills fine lol. Also my KA is tax exempt too and yet you say the fiat isn't?

I supported Boro today and look what happens. Typical.

Yes, the 1.2 is £30 road tax a year. I'm sure it has the same engine as the KA, in fact, aren't they built in the same factory, so that's odd that's one vat exempt and one isn't? Maybe Ford has tinkered with it and improved it? Or could be the year, we're looking at 2011 to 2013-ish.

  9. Any thoughts on the Z4 or any other suggestions?

One of my friends has a 3.0 Z4 and it's a great car. Even though the stats are very similar to the 350z it does seem a little quicker. (note: it could well be my driving!)

It looks good, although I think the 350z is aging better as the new style Z4 looks much more modern compared to the 370z, so that's always made me feel like the 350z is aging better.

The only downside for me is they're too common. You never get the flash of the headlights or the wave from the other drivers, whereas in the 350z you know the driver is serious about cars and probably a real enthusiast. For me, that's the (silly) reason to get a 350z.

My missus has had the twin air sport for for nearly four years now and won't part with it. Ok it only does 40 odd to the gallon but that's because the glorious little twin engine with mahoosive turbo just makes you want to drive it like a sports car. The 1.2 version seemed flat compared to the 0.9 twin air

I was a little bit dubious about her having a fiat but it's never missed a beat and nothing's fell off and it has loads of character, I love driving it, we quite often go away at weekends and leave the Zed in the garage

My advice... Go for it you won't regret it.

    Thanks, that's great advice.

She test drove one yesterday and even being in the passenger seat I could tell how fun it was to drive. It sounded like a v8 engine with a real grunt (I realise that sounds ridiculous as it's only a 2 cylinder) and the turbo made it very nippy.

We also test drove a 1.2 and it seemed to have nothing. Over taking another car at 60mph seems to be 'a long drawn out affair' (<-- Alan Partridge reference).

if she gets a 500 it'll definitely be a twin air. I hope she does, I want to drive it!

    Thanks guys!

  11. My girlfriend is looking to buy a Fiat 500 and I wondered if anyone had any experience with them?

Obviously I would like the Abarth version, but unless I buy it for her then that's not going to happen! She's looking at the 0.9 twin air and it test drove fantastically. Does any have any good/bad experience with the twin air or the normal 1.2 pop / lounge / S?

    Thanks :)

  12. Just drove from Surrey to Inverness and back with a friend, so we did 1500 miles and didn't see one 350z. He was really surprised how rare they are.

That same friend was heading down to St Ives yesterday and sent me a Whatsapp of a soft top gun metal grey 350z, with black alloy's, black Nissan badge and some mean looking exhausts. Reg is BG56XXX. Naturally you were in the fast lane.

So if you noticed some weird looking bloke taking a photo of your car then that's why.

Will try and get the photo on here.

  13. Yesterday I saw a black (or dark blue) 350z just outside Crawley heading to East Grinstead. Had a body kit and looked very nice. You flashed and I would have flashed or made more of an effort to wave, but spotted you late.

Then saw an unmodified gun metal grey 350z (just like mine) on a roundabout just outside Crawley heading towards the M23 roundabout. Only just saw you in the corner of my eye, so not sure if you saw me.

I just drove to from Surrey to Inverness and all the way back, so 1500 miles-ish and didn't see one 350z, then drive to Crawley and see two, crazy!

  14. Hi, yes I replied this morning on here.

Did you ring and speak to Scott?

I live in Reigate as well near to South Park.

    Where are you in Reigate?

    Welcome to the forum.

No, not spoken to you guys yet as I've been away, just got back now though, so will call you guys soon and arrange to bring in in at some point.

I used to live in North Road in South Park, so know it well! Small world!

  15. Hello Abbey Motorsport,

    I'm hoping you can help.

Getting into second gear on my '05 350z is a little tricky.

It's a very minor issue and I can still select the gear okay. I even had it looked at by Nissan (before I knew you guys existed!) and they said it was fine, but I've also read lots of posts on here about it being a common issue.

I was wondering if a gearbox oil change (potentially with Molyslip added) would help?

    What's your opinion?

I'm in Reigate, so would like to bring it over to you guys to have this done (if you think it will help).

Also, potentially looking at a few modding bits in the future. Maybe an engine remap to increase the power in 1st and 2nd year.

    Thanks!
